New ~40PS 400cc Hyosung GD400R Against KTM’s 390s Under Works [Speculation]

Hyosung currently sells six bikes in India – GT250R & GT650R in the sports segment, GT650N as the sole naked streetfighter and Aquila Pro, Aquila 250 and ST7 in the cuiser space. All their current motorcycles run on twin cylinder engines and they also have the new single cylinder GD250R and GD250N which are touted to be India-bound. They also showed some at the Delhi Auto Expo last year.

Now, a report at Visordown claims Hyosung will unveil three new bikes for its markets at Eicma Motor Show. They are…

  1. New GT650R
  2. New GT250R
  3. New GT125R

Apart from this Hyosung also has plans of launching a 400cc GD400R which will be a liquid cooled model and considering that ‘GD’ series offers single cylinder engines, this may also be a single motor right under the throat of Duke and RC390!

The GD250s produce power output of around 28PS and maximum torque of 24Nm. Considering this, the 400 single, if it will be, may churn out something close to 40 horses and about 30Nm of torque. As is their trend, expect a naked version to be offered at some point of time as well.

Visordown states that GD300R will be a 2017 model and we can expect it to launch sometime towards the second half of next year. KTM’s 390s have been big hits and this should convince DSK Hyosung to launch them here but prices have to be real competitive!
