EICMA 2024, the biggest motorshow for two-wheelers, was held between Nov 5-10 in Milan, Italy
Several prominent automobile brands participated in this extravagant event with their new range of products which included scooters, motorcycles and EVs. Royal Enfield and Hero MotoCorp, the distinguished home-grown motorcycle manufacturers, also made their presence felt at the Milan Motor Show with multiple new unveilings for the Indian market. In fact, KTM too showcased a host of India-bound products at the EICMA 2024. In this piece, we have detailed all the India-specific upcoming bikes showcased at EICMA 2024.
1. Royal Enfield Flying Flea:
Royal Enfield unveiled its all-new EV sub-brand ‘Flying Flea’ at EICMA 2024. The company announced that all the upcoming electric bikes from RE will be launched under the ‘Flying Flea’ brand. In addition, it took the wraps off the brand’s first electric motorcycle namely C6 under the new EV sub-brand.
Based on a forged aluminum frame, it flaunts LED headlamp upfront with girder forks. The Flying Flea C6 rides on 17-inch tyres while equipped with features like traction control, cruise control, and cornering ABS. Though battery specs were not revealed, we expect the C6 to have a range of 100+ km on a single charge with a top speed of 115 kmph. The Flying Flea C6 EV is expected to go on sale in early 2026 in India.
2. Royal Enfield Classic 650:
The big brother to the brand’s one of the most iconic and best-selling motorcycles, the Classic 350, made its global debut at the EICMA 2024. The Classic 650 is designed on the similar lines as the Classic 350 with ruggedness intact. It flaunts teardrop fuel tank, spoked rims and LED headlamp while offered with a single seat as standard.
The pillion seat can be availed as an option. The instrument console is sourced from the Classic 350, albeit with a tripper navigation pod. Royal Enfield Classic 650 draws power from the same 648cc parallel-twin petrol engine that we have seen in the Super Meteor and Shotgun 650. The motorcycle is expected to make its first public appearance in India at Motoverse 2024 which starts in Goa from Nov 22. The bookings and prices are expected to be revealed soon.
3. Hero Xpulse 210:
Hero MotoCorp unveiled four all-new products at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, which also included the Xpulse 210. The new ADV bike gets cosmetic as well as mechanical updates. Though most of the styling is carried over from the existing Xpulse 200, it is introduced with new color choices and slightly changed fuel tank position. Riding on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, it is equipped with a tubular handlebar and single seat.
The stand-out feature turns out to be the 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation. For the first time, the Xpulse features a liquid-cooled engine in place of the air/oil-cooled motor. The Karizma XMR’s 210cc single-cylinder engine generates top power of 24.6 bhp and peak torque of 20.7 Nm while coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. Hero Xpulse 210 will make its India premiere at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Jan 2025 in New Delhi.
4. KTM 390 Adventure R:
The new version of the 390 Adventure R finally debuted at the EICMA 2024 in Italy. Being the range-topping variant in the 390 Adventure range, it is bigger, better and more powerful than before. The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R is based on a steel trellis frame and it boasts of WP-sourced fully-adjustable USD front suspension and mono-shock rear suspension.
Riding on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel, the ADV bike is presented with a host of premium features such as Ride-by-wire throttle, Bi-directional quickshifter, Switchable ABS, Traction control and a TFT colored instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The older engine has gone for a toss in favour of a new 399cc single-cylinder engine from the latest Duke 390 with a 6-speed gearbox.
5. Hero Xtreme 250R:
Hero MotoCorp will enter the 250cc segment of bikes with the Xtreme 250R which was unveiled at the EICMA 2024. It will be Hero’s candidate against KTM Duke 250 and Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. Based on the Xtunt 2.5R Concept which made its debut at EICMA 2023, Hero Xtreme 250R carries a trellis frame with golden-colored USD front suspension and mono-shock rear suspension with pre-load capabilities.
The Xtreme 250R is presented with Hero’s new 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which has been developed from the Karizma XMR’s 210cc engine. The engine delivers top power of 30 bhp and peak torque of 25 Nm while linked to a 6-speed transmission with a 0-60 kmph sprint time of merely 3.25 secs.
6. BMW F 450 GS:
BMW unveiled the F 450 GS concept at the Milan Motor Show 2024. The company will introduce an all-new adventure motorcycle based on the aforementioned concept in the 450cc segment. It will be positioned between the G 310 GS and F 800 & 900 Series. Weighing around 175 kgs, BMW F 450 GS is equipped with USD forks at front and a mono-shock unit at rear with load-dependent damping.
Some of the interesting features on the Concept bike were in the form of lean-sensitive ABS, multi ride modes and a 6.5-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth. The F 450 GS will draw power from a newly-built 450cc twin-cylinder engine which will generate maximum power of around 48 bhp.
