5 Upcoming Hero Motorcycles and Scooters in 2026-27 in India

Hero MotoCorp will further strengthen its leadership position in the two-wheeler market by rolling out multiple new models in 2026-27

Hero MotoCorp is the world’s largest two-wheeler brand with monthly retail volumes often surpassing 5 lakh units. It has a wide product portfolio of motorcycles as well as scooters in the Indian market, and a few of which are also shipped to several foreign markets. However, with rising competition, the company is looking to tap into new segments by launching new models and further accentuate its overall market share in the two-wheeler segment. Hence, in this piece, we will talk in detail about the 5 upcoming Hero motorcycles and scooters in 2026-27.

Hero Karizma XMR 250

It has been more than one and a half year since we last saw the Karizma XMR 250 at the EICMA 2024 in Italy and yet there is no word on the exact launch timeline of the brand’s first fully-faired bike in the quarter-litre segment. It was presented with multiple premium features in the form of split LED headlamp, clip-on handlebars, TFT instrument console, slipper and assist clutch, dual-channel ABS, and integrated winglets.

At the heart, it has the 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which generates top power of 30 bhp and peak torque of 25 Nm while paired to a 6-speed transmission. This engine has been developed out of the existing 210cc engine of the Karizma XMR 210. Hero Karizma XMR 250 will directly rival Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, KTM RC 200 and Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 in the Indian market. We expect it to launch around Aug-Sep 2026 in India.

Hero Mavrick 440

Hero MotoCorp silently discontinued its flagship motorcycle in Aug 2025 due to low sales volumes. However, there are murmurs that the company is planning to bring back the Mavrick 440 in a modern avatar with cosmetic enhancements and advanced features. The updated model, reportedly showcased at the EICMA 2024, was spied undisguised last year in Oct.

It was equipped with golden USD front forks in place of the conventional telescopic units. The black colour of the engine casing was replaced by bronze/copper shade. Though it couldn’t be confirmed whether the 2025 Hero Mavrick will get the TFT display from the Harley-Davidson X440 as the model unveiled in Milan last year was packed with the same instrument console.

Hero Vida VxZ

Hero’s electric arm Vida is readying its first all-electric motorcycle in the form of the VxZ. Unveiled at the EICMA 2025 in concept form, it will be co-developed by the US-based Zero Motorcycle. The VxZ will be Hero’s first mass-market electric motorcycle in the Indian market. The design patent of the VxZ was filed in Dec 2025 by Hero MotoCorp in India. Hero Vida VxZ is likely to go on sale in India within FY27.

It has been learnt that Hero VxZ electric bike will also get multiple ride modes, digital instrument cluster, petal disc brakes and belt-drive system.

Hero Vida Ubex

Alongside the VxZ concept, Hero also presented the Ubex neo-naked hypermoto concept in dual-tone red and white body colours at the EICMA 2025. Developed for all-terrain riding, it sits on a modular chassis. Some of the notable features onboard the electric bike are floating seat, alloy wheels, USD front forks and mid-mounted electric motor.

In Feb 2026, the design patent for the Vida Ubex was filed in India and it looked almost production-ready. So, in all likelihood, it could also be launched in this fiscal only in the Indian market. The term ‘Ubex’ is created from ‘Urbex’ which denotes urban exploration. The battery pack and range details are not in public domain yet. However, we expect the electric bike to deliver 150+ km on a single charge.

New Vida Affordable Electric Scooter

Recently, it was learnt that Vida will expand its electric scooter portfolio by rolling out a new mass-market affordable model by Aug 2026 in the Indian market. It is likely to come with a 3.8 kWh fixed battery pack while priced below Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The company already retails the VX2 electric scooter in a price range of Rs 77,590-98,970 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Vida VX2 is also available with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model at a reduced upfront pricing of Rs 44,990 (ex-showroom). The design of the new Vida electric scooter could be inspired by the existing models such as the V2 and VX2. Hero MotoCorp will double the production capacity at Sri City plant to 6.6 lakh units by 2027 to accommodate the manufacturing of this upcoming e-scooter. Currently, this facility can produce 3.3 lakh units annually.
