The Indian two-wheeler industry started 2026 on a rather positive note as every major brand posted positive YoY sales growth in the first month of the new year. The overall motorcycle sales were also decent as legacy heavyweight players continued to dominate while raking in higher sales volumes. 1. Hero Splendor
Terming the Splendor as the ‘GOAT’ of motorcycles wouldn’t be an understatement, as it had consistently outsold every other bike in the Indian market while sitting on the numero uno spot for so many years. In Jan 2026, Hero MotoCorp sold 310,802 units of the Splendor, as it accounted for more than 50 percent of the brand’s total sales last month in the country. The entry-level commuter motorcycle has been clocking average monthly sales in excess of 2.50 lakh units.
2. Honda Shine
The Shine is Honda’s answer to Hero Splendor in the Indian market. Though it is no match to the old guard, it still managed decent sales of 135,076 units last month. The Shine 125 is a perfect choice for buyers who are looking for decent performance in the 125cc segment without compromising on the mileage. Recently, Honda also rolled out a special edition of the Shine to gain sales and come closer to Hero Splendor.
3. Hero HF Deluxe
The HF Deluxe is the brand’s entry-level model in the Indian market. Due to its low cost of ownership, highly aggressive pricing, and Hero’s widespread sales network, the HF Deluxe is the best-selling motorcycle in the 100-110cc segment. The company sold a total of 71,690 units of the bike in Jan 2026 in India. Hero comfortably manages to sell around 50,000 units of the HF Deluxe each month on average.
4. Bajaj Pulsar 125
The Pulsar 125, the smallest model in the highly popular Pulsar range, still enjoys unparalleled support from the customers in the Indian market. Last month, Bajaj Auto sold 67,081 units of the bike in the domestic market. This is quite an achievement for the brand, as the Pulsar 125 is positioned in the highly competitive 125cc performance segment, which has the likes of the Hero Xtreme 125R, TVS Raider 125, and Honda SP 125. The Pulsar 125 line-up consists of three models, namely the Bajaj Pulsar 125, the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125, and the Bajaj Pulsar N125.
5. TVS Apache
The Apache has always been leading the charge for TVS Motor Company in the motorcycle segment. Presently, the Apache range has four models on sale in the form of the Apache RTR 160 2V, Apache RTR 160 4V, Apache RTR 180 2V, and Apache RTR 200 4V. The company retailed a total of 51,191 units of these bikes last month in the Indian market. The Apache motorcycles are known for their superior performance, effortless handling, and striking design.
