The cruiser segment in India only has the Avenger as the most affordable offering and then you move to the Royal Enfields. The Auto Expo held in February last year saw an attempt by a US based manufacturer United Motorcycles to enter the lucrative Indian motorcycle market with their cruiser Renegade Commando.
However, the company is yet to launch any product in India. In the past few days another cruiser manufacturer, Regal Raptor participated at the Hyderabad International Auto Show and showcased its product line-up for India.
Who is Regal Raptor?
Owned by a Chinese businessman, Mr Horse Zhang, the owner of Lifeng Group Co Ltd, Regal Raptor has been making motorcycles since 1990. The company has its headquarters in China and has collaborated with Fabulous and Beyond Motors India Pvt Ltd (FAB Motors). As per their company website, they wish to be the first to introduce 320 cc cruiser and chopper bikes in India.
The company plans to imports CKD parts from Shanghai and assemble them in India to sell the finished products in India as well as export them to eight countries which include Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and Yemen.
As per a report on Rushlane, the company plans to launch three new products in India (all pictured on this page):
- Daytona 350
- Cruiser 350
- Bobber 350
All three bikes will house the same 320 cc water cooled fuel injected mill producing 23.1 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 22 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
Looks like all the cruisers and chopper enthusiasts in the country are going to have something new on their plate soon!
