Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 with Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric
Royal Enfield is expanding the Himalayan range of adventure motorcycles in the Indian market. It has been learnt that the brand will roll out three new Himalayan bikes in the coming 9-12 months in our country, including the all-electric model. While the Himalayan 450 is already quite popular in the middleweight ADV segment, the company seems to offer multiple choices for the buyers in this category. Hence, in this piece, we will talk in detail about the 3 upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan bikes confirmed to launch in India.
Internally codenamed as D4G, Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 will be launched next month, i.e. Sep 2026, in the Indian market. it will be the spiritual successor to the Himalayan 411 which was discontinued in late 2023 after the arrival of Himalayan 450. Positioned between Scram 440 and Himalayan 450, the Himalayan 440 will use the same platform and engine as the Scram 440, but styling will be inspired by the Himalayan 411.
The upcoming Himalayan 440 is likely to have a relatively lower seat height while being highly affordable than the Himalayan 450. It is not expected to come loaded with multiple premium features, except the switchable ABS and Tripper navigation pod. The Himalayan 440 will miss out on ride modes and traction control. It will ride on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, which are shod with tubed dual-purpose tyres.
Recently, the Himalayan 750 was captured on camera in production-ready guise near the Technology Centre of Royal Enfield in Leicestershire, UK. The biggest ADV bike till date by RE will have its highly anticipated world premiere at the EICMA 2026 in November. The overall design of the adventure bike is inspired by the highly popular Himalayan 450.
Some of the notable styling elements onboard the Himalayan 750 could be round LED headlamp, saree guard, five-spoke alloy wheels, fixed windscreen, wider fuel tank, centre stand and upswept single exhaust. The ADV bike is expected to be sitting on a new tubular chassis with a fixed subframe instead of the bolt-on unit. At the heart, the Himalayan 750 will house a air/oil-cooled engine which has been developed from the existing 648cc parallel-twin unit.
The all-electric version of the popular Himalayan adventure tourer has been spotted on multiple occasions without any camouflage on the Indian roads. The hardware and cycle parts indicated that the all-electric model of the adventure tourer will be as strong, capable and competent in terms of off-roading as the ICE-powered version. The Himalayan EV also shares riding stance and silhouette with the petrol-powered version of the adventure bike.
Some of the prominent features onboard the Himalayan Electric could be round LED headlamp, front windscreen, wire-spoke wheels, front & rear disc brakes, rear view mirrors, USD front forks, wider handlebar, ride modes, mid-mounted footpegs and single-piece seat. It is likely to get Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps integration as well. Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric is likely to be powered by a 14 kWh battery pack which could return a range of 200-250 km on a full charge.
