The entry-level commuter (100-125cc) segment of motorcycles will see three new models being launched in the coming few months in the Indian market.

The entry-level commuter motorcycle (100-125cc) segment in the Indian two-wheeler industry is one of the highest volume grossers. Several prominent brands such as Hero, Honda and Bajaj have been locked in a fierce battle with their respective models namely HF Deluxe, Shine 100 and Platina 100. Now as the festive season is approaching, we will see new commuter bikes going on sale in the domestic market. In this piece, we will talk about the 3 upcoming commuter motorcycles in India in the coming 6-8 months.

1. Honda Shine 100 DX: Unveiled a few days back, Honda Shine 100 DX is the most feature-rich model in the Shine 100 line-up. The official bookings for the commuter will start from Aug 1, 2025 while the price announcement and deliveries are likely to commence in the next few days. It will be available in four colour schemes namely Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Geny Gray Metallic.

Some of the notable features onboard the Shine 100 DX include new headlamp with chrome garnishing, sculpted fuel tank, chrome muffler cover, LCD digital instrument cluster, side stand engine cut off and real-time display of mileage. Riding on 17-inch tubeless tyres, Honda Shine 100 DX will be powered by the same OBD-2B compliant 98.98cc single-cylinder engine which develops top power of 7.3 bhp and peak torque of 8 Nm while linked to a 4-speed gearbox.

2. New-Gen Hero Glamour: The 2026 Hero Glamour 125 was recently leaked on web with premium features including cruise control. In addition, the spy-images revealed that the new bike will be offered with an all-digital LCD instrument cluster, LED turn indicators and updated switchgear. All these features are usually seen in the premium high-end motorcycles.

Despite equipping the new-gen model with several advanced features, Hero has retained the signature elements of the bike such as saree guard, rear grab rail, single-piece long seat, RSU telescopic front forks and full chain cover.

3. Honda CB125 Hornet: The CB125 Hornet is Honda’s contender against TVS Raider 125 and Hero Xtreme 125R in the domestic market. Unveiled a few days back alongside the Shine 100 DX in New Delhi, it will be launched in the coming months. However, bookings will start from Aug 1, 2025 across the country.
