Both the motorcycles have been updated with a brand spanking new colour scheme while retaining the same design, features and hardware
Triumph has unveiled the 2027 Speed 400 and 2027 Scrambler 400 X with new colour options. Apart from the new colour schemes, both the bikes remain the same in terms of aesthetics, features and engine specs. While the 2027 Triumph Speed 400 gets a new dual-tone paint shade in the form of Racing Red & Pewter Grey, the 2027 Triumph Scrambler 400 X is introduced with Matt Pewter Grey & Matt Khaki Green colourway. Both these new colour choices are likely to make their way to the India-spec models as well in future.
2027 Triumph Speed 400
The 2027 Triumph Speed 400 retains the Phantom Black & Storm Grey and Pearl Metallic White & Phantom Black colours. The newly rolled out two-tone Racing Red and Pewter Grey paint option comes with a diagonal Phantom Black stripe on the fuel tank and large Triumph triangle stamp on the tank. It is unlikely to see a premium in retail price as compared to the other two paint schemes.
The India-spec Speed 400 is powered by a 350cc single-cylinder engine which develops top power of 36.5 bhp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 32 Nm at 7000 rpm. However, the global model continues to be equipped with the 398cc single-cylinder engine which generates 39.5 bhp at 8000 rpm and 37.5 Nm at 6500 rpm. The power and torque have gone down by 3 bhp and 5.5 Nm, respectively, for the India-bound version of the bike due to the downsized engine.

The Speed 400 is locally developed by Bajaj for the British brand at its Pune factory as India serves as the global export hub for the roadster. Recently, Triumph India increased the price of the Speed 400 by Rs 6,000 and took it to Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Speed 400 was the first motorcycle launched by the company in its 400 portfolio of bikes, which now has a total of six motorcycles.
2027 Triumph Scrambler 400 X
The 2027 Scrambler 400 X will be available with a bold Matt Khaki Green stripe on a Matt Pewter Grey tank. The mudgards and bodywork are carried out in cool Phantom Black while boasting of flat finishes with subtle off-road influences. The buyers can also avail colour coded high mudguards as an accessory. The Phantom Black & Silver Ice and Baja Orange & Aluminium colours have been carried over the existing model.

Mechanically, the 2027 Triumph Scrambler 400 X houses the same 398cc single-cylinder engine which generates 39.5 bhp at 8000 rpm and 37.5 Nm at 6500 rpm. It does a 0-100kmph sprint in 7.4 secs before topping out at 146 kmph. We expect the new colour option to be added soon to the India-spec version of the bike in the next few months.
