2026 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 India Launch Later This Year

The 2026 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 will come with new paint choices, improved suspension setup and premium braking system among others in India

Royal Enfield recently showcased the race-spec version of the Continental GT-R 750 at the EICMA 2025 and Motoverse 2025. Now, we have learnt that the company is planning a mid-cycle facelift for the Continental GT 650 which will come with substantial visual and mechanical updates. It is likely to launch in the last quarter (Oct-Dec) of this calendar year, which makes it clear that despite the arrival of the 750cc model, the 650cc version of the bike will not be discontinued and both will be sold together.

The 2026 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 will debut multiple new colours while the suspension setup will also be updated. The existing telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers will come with more premium and upmarket units. It might also get a new twin disc front brake, something similar to the units seen on test mules of the Continental GT-R 750.

The ongoing version of the Continental GT 650 is available in five paint shades namely British Racing Green, Rocker Red, Apex Grey, Slip Stream Blue and Mr Clean. It is priced in a range of 3.50-3.78 lakh (ex-showroom). The cafe-racer model is slotted between Interceptor 650 and Classic 650 in RE’s portfolio. The 2026 Continental GT 650 will be a bit more expensive than the current model due to addition of premium equipment.

The Continental GT 650 is Royal Enfield’s most popular twin-cylinder motorcycle in the Indian market as well as in various global markets. Hence, the company seems to be in no mood to phase it out even after introducing the bigger and more premium Continental GT-R 750. However, the 2026 Continental GT 650 will go on sale once the 750cc model has launched in the country.

Royal Enfield has lined-up several new motorcycles for launch this year in the Indian market. While it will expand the 650cc portfolio with the Bullet 650, it will also debut its first-ever electric motorcycle in the coming 2-3 months in the form of the Flying Flea C6. By the end of 2026, the brand will roll out its second electric motorcycle, which is the Flying Flea S6.

This year will also mark the debut of the brand’s 750cc motorcycles in the form of the Himalayan 750 and Continental GT-R 750. While the former was showcased as a pre-production model at the EICMA 2025 in Italy, the latter was introduced in a race-spec version with fairing. We expect to see both of these models in production-ready form by the end of this year.
