The 2026 Kawasaki KLX230 is now available at a price of Rs 1.99 lakh due to local production as compared to its predecessor which costed around Rs 3.30 lakh.
Kawasaki India has launched the 2026 KLX230 at a sticker price of Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in the domestic market. The road legal off-road bike has received a massive price cut of nearly Rs 1.30 lakh as the company has begun its local production in India. Earlier, Kawasaki KLX230 used to come as a direct import via the CBU route at a price of Rs 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in a single fully-loaded Standard variant, it can be availed in two colours namely Lime Green and Battle Gray/ Bright White/ Ebony. The huge price cut takes the KLX230 quite close to its direct rival, the Hero Xpulse 210, which is priced between Rs 1.76-1.86 lakh (ex-showroom).
The trail-only 2026 KLX230R S too has become way more affordable than before with new price of Rs 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom) as previously, it was priced at Rs 5.21 lakh (ex-showroom). The price has dropped drastically by Rs 3.27 lakh, as per the data available on Kawasaki India official website. The 2026 Kawasaki KLX230R S is also rolled out in a single fully-loaded variant in Lime Green colour scheme. Just so you know, the non road-legal bike misses out on ORVMs, headlights, turn indicators and grab rails among others.
Flaunting KX-inspired bodywork, the 2026 Kawasaki KLX230 gets the exhaust with an oval cross section. Sitting on a high-tensile steel perimeter frame, it boasts of a compact twin-LED headlamp setup. Some of the notable features onboard are Electric Start, Switchable ABS, and 21-inch front & 18-inch rear wheels. The off-road specific motorcycle is also packed with an all-digital LCD instrument cluster which displays odometer, speedometer, fuel gauge and clock among others.

The riders can connect their Smartphone with the bike via the Rideology the App to access an array of features such as Riding logs, Maintenance schedule, Call alert, Message notification and Rider mode. The suspension duties are carried by telescopic front forks and Uni-Trak rear units. The stopping power is supplied by a 290mm single petal disc at front and 230mm single petal disc at the rear.
Mechanically, the 2026 KLX230 is powered by a 233cc single-cylinder air-cooled petrol engine which develops top power of 18.4 bhp and highest torque of 19 Nm while paired with a 6-speed transmission. The bike has an incredible ground clearance of 255mm to suit its off-roading character. The saddle height is pegged at 880mm while it tips the weighing scale at 139 kg.

Kawasaki KLX230 was first introduced in Dec 2024 in the Indian market. However, the hefty price tag of Rs 3.30 lakh made it almost impossible for the buyers to go for it. However, with the recent slashing in price, it has become highly accessible to a wide range of customers. Kawasaki had adopted a similar approach with the W175 a few weeks back by dropping the price.
