The 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V will get a host of cosmetic updates and modern features while retaining the same petrol engine
Hero MotoCorp will launch the 2026 Xtreme 160R 4V on October 16 in the Indian market. The street naked motorcycle is likely to get a host of cosmetic updates and modern features while retaining the same petrol engine. The 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V price is expected to be on the higher side as compared to the ongoing model which is sold in a range of 1.35-1.38 lakh (ex-showroom) in our country. The Xtreme 160R, positioned between the Xtreme 125R and Xtreme 250R, directly rivals Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V in India.
The 2026 Xtreme 160R 4V is expected to get a redesigned silhouette, tweaked rider triangle and a rear tyre hugger. A few media reports indicate that the latest iteration of the street naked motorcycle will be offered with a modified fuel tank, restyled headlamp & tail-lamp cluster, and refreshed seat. It will also boast of improved ergonomics for a better ride experience.
In terms of features, the 2026 Xtreme 160R could be rolled out with an advanced instrument cluster with multi-coloured TFT display and Google Maps mirroring. The present model comes with a LCD screen and turn-by-turn navigation. Hence, it will be a major upgrade for the street naked motorcycle as both of its rivals already come equipped with a TFT unit.
It has been learnt that Hero might add a few premium features too in the 2026 Xtreme 160R in the form of lap timer, document storage, and auto brightness. The cruise control, ride modes, dual-channel ABS, and electronic throttle body (ETB) are likely to be retained with the new model. It is not confirmed but a quickshifter could also be in the offing.
Currently, Hero Xtreme 160R is available in a total of five colour schemes namely Kevlar Brown, Stealth Black, Neon Shooting Star, Matt Shadow Grey, and Matt Slate Black. In all likelihood, all these paint shades will be retained with the new model while also introducing a few more dual-tone colours. The street naked bike will flaunt new graphics on the body panels.
At the heart, it will continue to house the same 163.2cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled petrol engine which generates max power of 16.7 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is highly unlikely that Hero will tweak the power and torque figures. The 5-speed gearbox will be continued with this engine alongside the wet multiplate clutch.
