Yamaha India has launched the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid at a sticker price of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the country. Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January, it gets the same hybrid tech as seen in the Yamaha scooters. The company has also made a few minor cosmetic updates while offering multiple new features with the bike. The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is not only the brand’s but also India’s first-ever hybrid motorcycle in the 150cc segment with obviously no direct rivals.
The 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid comes with integrated front turn signals which have been repositioned in the air intake area. It flaunts sharper edges on the fuel tank cover with an airplane-style cap that remains attached even during refueling. The rest of the bike is the same as the regular version and can be availed in two colour schemes namely Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.
Speaking at the launch of the first hybrid motorcycle in its category, Mr. Itaru Otani, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group said, “The FZ brand has played a crucial role in Yamaha’s journey in India, evolving with every generation to meet the changing expectations and practical requirements of our customers. By introducing hybrid technology in this segment, we are not only elevating performance but also reinforcing our commitment to bringing advanced, rider-focused innovations.”
It also boasts of a 4.2-inch fully-coloured TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. The Smartphone can be paired with the Y-Connect app to access features like Turn-by-Turn (TBT) navigation linked to Google Maps, offering real-time directions, navigation index, intersection details, and road names. The position of the handlebar has also been slightly changed for larger comfort during long journeys. In fact, the switches mounted on the handlebar have been readjusted as well for better use even while wearing hand gloves, predominantly the horn button.
Mechanically, the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid is equipped with a OBD-2B compliant 149 cc Blue Core petrol engine, Yamaha’s Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS). This hybrid setup enables silent starts, battery-assisted acceleration, and improved fuel efficiency. It automatically shuts the engine at idle while it can be restarted by just pressing the clutch lever.
