2025 Jawa 42 FJ Spied Testing – Dual Exhaust Missing?

The test mule spotted on camera has a single exhaust pipe as opposed to the standard dual exhaust setup offered in the present model

The 2025 Jawa 42 FJ has been spotted testing on the Indian roads by our friends at Thrustzone. The interesting thing to note here is that the spied unit had a single exhaust pipe as compared to the dual unit setup on the ongoing model. Generally, single-cylinder motorcycles don’t need a double exhaust system and the companies only offer this setup to accentuate the retro avatar. Same is the case here with the Jawa 42 FJ. However, with the new spy-shots emerging, it seems as if the brand is going back to its traditional way with a single exhaust unit.

The spy images show that the 2025 Jawa 42 FJ misses out on the left-hand side exhaust pipe. In fact, the exhaust unit on the right side can not be seen clearly either due to the optical illusion. Hence, it is quite possible that Jawa could offer an underbelly exhaust with the 2025 42 FJ which could result in a better power-to-weight ratio. Furthermore, the bike could be moved rather easily in thick traffic and congested areas.

The dual exhaust setup is merely a visual delight and hence returning to a single unit setup could help substantially in lowering down the production costs. Other than that, we could not spot any noticeable change in the motorcycle. It will continue to carry the same design elements such as round LED headlamp, tear-drop fuel tank and wider rear fender.

The current model of Jawa 42 FJ comes at a price of Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom) in the domestic market. Equipped with a dual-channel ABS, it is available in six colour options. It gets multiple modern features as standard in the form of telescopic front suspension, long single-piece seat, upswept exhaust and a split grab rail.

Sitting on a double cradle frame, the 2025 Jawa 42 FJ is expected to ride on the same 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels which are shod with 100/90 and 140/70 tyres, respectively. The saddle height is 790 mm which makes it ideal for even short height riders. It is safe to assume that the 2025 Jawa 42 FJ will be more stylish and powerful than the current version.

Mechanically, the bike is likely to remain unchanged with the 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine at the helm. It generates max power of 29 bhp and highest torque of 29 Nm while linked to a 6-speed transmission. This setup will be carried forward, albeit with a slight revision in power and torque figures.
