Just ahead of the festive season, as a ritual Yamaha has started updating its motorcycles. The flagship faired sportster R15M has received new features and a fresher color theme to spice things up.
The 2024 R15M has received a new top-of-the-line variant which comes with Carbon Fibre patter graphics that have been done using some water-dipping technology which, Yamaha claims, offers ‘exceptional finish‘. The upper part of the fairing, front fender and rear cowls are now offered in grey/black shade with carbon Fibre graphics on the front cowl, side fairing and the flanks of the rear side panels. The wheels continue to be painted blue.

Apart from this, the R15M (both variants) also receive the following new features…
- Navigation – The R15M line-up is now available with Turn-by-Turn navigation on the console. You also have the feature of music and volume control now.
- Yamaha is also offering a LED license plate light on the premium M range
- Also on offer is an updated switchgear.
The motorcycle remains unchanged mechanically and gets the very potent and fun 155cc VVA engine that churns 13.5 KW of peak power at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of max torque at 7500 rpm.

The R15 range has crossed that Rs 2 Lakh price barrier – probably a first for a 150cc motorcycle in India and there is a difference of Rs 10,000 between both the variants. The higher R15M Carbon Fibre trim is available across Yamaha Blue Square showrooms whereas the standard R15M can be had from all Yamaha dealerships in India.
