2023 Honda Hornet OBD2 Launched at 1.39 Lac; Gets Slipper Clutch

2023 Hornet price is slightly under the 200s but over the 180s that are available in India. It offers a nice amalgamation of styling and substance…

As expected, Honda has started launching the updated versions of its bigger motorcycles. The Hornet 2.0 has been updated with OBD-2 compliance to make it eligible for sale in the country.

Along with that, the new Hornet now also gets slipper clutch which is the main change in the streetnaked. Rest of the motorcycle remains unchanged. The new Hornet 2.0 continues to be powered by the same 184.4 cc, single cylinder engine that is capable of churning 12.7 KW of peak power at 8500 rpm and 15.9 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The prime USP of Hornet is the chunky golden colored upside-down front forks that have been carried over and so is the overall sharp design. At the front you get LED headlamps – the side blinkers and the tail lamp are also LED units. The motorcycle that weighs 142 kilos comes with fat 110 mm and 140 mm tyres at the front and rear respectively. Stopping power is provided by 276 mm petal disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear. It comes with a single channel ABS.

At that price, the Hornet is significantly costlier than Apache 180 but undercuts the 200s – Apache 200 as well as the new Pulsar NS200 – its two direct rivals.

It continues with the four color options – Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic. The popular 10 year warranty (3 years standard and 7 years optional) also percolates to the Hornet as well. Next up – expect a similar update for the CB200X.
