Yamaha showcased the new MT15 BS6 in December in Chennai. However, it kept its specs and price undisclosed. Through a press note, it has officially announced the streetfighter’s launch in India.
The new MT15 now produces 18.5 PS of peak power at 10000 rpm and 13.9 Nm of max torque at 8500 rpm. This means that it has lost 0.8 PS and 0.8 Nm in the process. The peak rpms remain the same. For some reason, it now churns 0.1 PS of lesser power than its sibling R15 BS6.
In terms of changes, it gets a new Ice Fluo Vermillion colour which is a fancy name of dual-tone white colour, rear radial tyre and side-stand engine cut-off switch. The other two shades Metallic Black and Dark Matt Blue continue to be on offer.

This means that the price hike is Rs 2900 or 2.13 percent over the BS4 variant. The new shade gets a minor premium of Rs 500.
