2020 Himalayan Launch Soon; Expected to Get New Colours

2020 Himalayan launch will give the motorcycle some kind of freshness in styling as it has, so far, continued with dull shades…

Royal Enfield’s Himalayan has been a courageous step by the company but its life has been plagued with many issues – some very severe! At this point of time, it is still one of the highest selling Rupee 2 Lakh motorcycle in India (excluding other REs) but it is nowhere near the company’s expectations/standards.

If you would have noticed, Himalayan has largely remained similar in design to what it was first introduced as few years back, with the exception of the introduction of the Sleet edition. At this year’s EICMA, Royal Enfield showcased the motorcycle in three new dual tone colours – Lake Blue, Rock Red and Gravel Grey.

Apart from the gravel grey which looks professional and well thought out, the other two shades are weird in design with loud colours donning the front of the tank and metal bracket on white and black bases. But what they bring to the table is a lot of freshness over the very dull looking existing shades. The parts also look well finished and the ‘feel’ of quality is also slightly more assuring.

In all probability, all or few of these colours will be introduced in the colour palette of the 2020 Himalayan which should come with a Bharat Stage VI compliant engine. The 2020 Himalayan launch is expected between January and March 2020 and it will surely cost more than the current Rs 1.81 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will continue with the same 410 cc single cylinder engine but it is expected to lose out some power, as has been the trend so far.
