2019 Yamaha R3 launch in India – Will Yamaha be able to fight with the very aggressive Kawasaki?
Yamaha has shifted its focus away from the entry level commuter motorcycles and has identified its strengths. Their entry level models have never worked for them, however, their sports motorcycles have, most of the times, done well, with the exception of R15, which has been a blockbuster, for all the right reasons!
According to a report at Money Control, Yamaha’s strategy is to launch ‘several new motorcycles in the sports category’. This will be coupled with a global scooter platform as well. Considering the usage of the term ‘sports‘ we expect the upcoming motorcycles to be in the 150cc+ space.
Earlier this year, they introduced the all-new FZ version 3 which was recently followed by the MT-15 (read first ride review). Amidst these new product introductions, they also updated the R15, FZ25 as well as Fazer 25 with the mandatory ABS.
2019 Yamaha R3 Launch
Yamaha’s upcoming products should include the new R3 which has been a talking point ever since it was first introduced in some international markets. The new R3 is more supersports-kind with changes to the engine for refinement and performance. The design has been altered and the R3 now adorns Yamaha M1’s styling traits. The front suspension has been reworked and the ergonomics have been changed to present it as a sportier offering. Apart from this, we may also see the new-gen versions of 150cc Fazer etc.
