2016 KTM RC390 Spotted in India First Time; Initial Launch Hints?

EICMA has barely ended and KTM’s showcase of the 2016 RC390 stole the show for us from the Austrian brand. Though nothing new on the looks front, the motorcycle packs more features never seen in this (price) segment before. But we have an even better news for you – the 2016 RC390 has been reportedly spotted in India already! The following two images sourced from a Facebook group The Super Bikers League features the new model hinting at an Indian entry soon.

2016 RC390 New Features

The 2016 RC390 moves away from the underbelly exhaust to a full sized all-aluminium canister. This should help it gain a better exhaust note and also makes it Euro 4 ready.

Apart from that she gains

  • a slipper clutch (which is already available on India Duke 390)
  • bigger 320 mm front disc brakes
  • ride by wire technology
  • adjustable front brake and clutch lever.

On the looks front, it gets minor cosmetic changes towards the bottom of the fairing and reveals the crankcase cover on both sides.

Mechanically the bike is going to be powered by the same single cylinder 373.2 cc producing 43.5 PS of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.

While KTM has so far not shared the weight of the 2016 version, we believe it may have gained a few kilos after the added equipment. The new RC390 is expected to be launched early next year.
