Although this low resolution image sourced from Iwanbanaran.com does not manage to reveal the true genes of the bike, but the lack of fairing is pretty much noticeable. The tail lamp unit remains the same and it is not clear whether Yamaha has incorporated a visible grab rail or it will remain as a covered unit like the one in the R25.

Thanks to the loss of the fairing, the bike reportedly codenamed as BO4, is expected to be lighter. The street fighter image is expected to be borrowed from the bigger MT 07! The seating posture too appears to be much more relaxed than what we have seen on the R25.

The faired R25

The frame and other parts are expected to be identical to the R25. The engine too is expected to be the same two cylinder 249 cc, 8 valve, liquid cooled, fuel injected mill which, on the R25, is capable of churning out a maximum power output of 36 PS at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. Transmission too shall remain the same 6 speed constant mesh unit.
