That is wrong. 1 liter of gasoline for 38 miles, means that it gives the same mileage as pulsar 150 cc which is not correct. It consumes 1 litre of gasoline for 3.8 miles.

even i had seen this same bike in the chennai race track during 12 june when r15 was launched in chennai.since then this bike had been doing rounds around south india.different bikes are used by yamaha to promote their products though fazer 1000 is not for sale in india.only r1 and mt01 are for sale in india.

you must leave appreciative comments and encourage deepak on the wonderful articles he has been posting.believe me running and maintaining a website and adding new content in a personal website is really tough and a lot of effort and work and thought goes into it one needs a lot of patience.lately i have become a fan and regular user of this site as so much has been happening lately.

you can see my comment just after the first comment.i had given a few of the facts and opinions of the superbikes i had driven.i have properly pointed my initial reactions on riding such high powered bikes.not everybody gets a chance to do that.so the only way to post an article is to do some reference work and i dont blame deepak for that.

deepak must have seen the fazer 1000 in the flesh and got excited about it and decided to write an article on it and did some reference work so what big deal he is not commiting any crime as far as i can see as he did not get a chance to ride and it and see he just wanted to give correct and accurate facts on his site.anybody is bound to get excited when they see any superbike as these bikes are very rare on indian roads and to catch a glimpse of them on indian roads is itself a rare eventuality.

so please dont criticise him iam not taking sides with him or supporting him iam just justifying his stand as we must not forget we live in india and that my dear friend makes a lot of difference you know.

Just a clarification! The article source is definitely taken from USA bike site reviews! So said, its definitely not a copy+paste work. Didn’t you see the preview is posted in the Imported Bikes Category the first place? And, didn’t you see my site is copyscape protected? So, I respect copyright policies and infringement laws.

i have driven the 08 zx 14 in states once and it was biking heaven for me. i challenge apart from the 08 hayabusa no other bike can even do this, i drove the bike from a standstill(0 km/hr) in 6th gear all the way upto 150km/hr the max speed limit for bikes on the interstate freeway in the states and the bike was still pulling strong. i thought the engine pull was so strong the bike could have maxed out to the top speed of 300+ km/hr easily, needless to say the bike did not even break into a sweat. i cant think of any other bike that can do this apart from the hayabusa.there is so much torque 154 nm to be exact, higher than the busa for that matter from the 1352 cc engine of the zx 14.

iam going to buy a silver zx 14 in a couple of years time, right now i have started saving up for the zx 14.as for now i have to make do with my new silver karizma i guess.the zx 14 is the ultimate bike for me.

mt01 is another superb bike i have driven, my friend harish owns one in bangalore and i drove it on bangalore highway, this bike blows you away with its pickup and the momentum it gains in just a few seconds its spine tingling and though the bike has only 5 gears the pull is so good even from 40 to 210 km/hr the bike accelerates like a bullet and that too in 5th gear.now thats a trick only a torque laden bike can do and not even a super bike.

the suzuki boulevard 1783 cc i drove in the states was mind blowing to say the least.i test drove the bike from a childhood friend of mine raghav and i was seriously impressed.the bike has a low slung design but man was it comfortable and the throttle response was just fantabulous.i rate it to be the best comfy bike i have ever driven and the most stress free engine ever i have experienced.

but one thing a driver must remember when driving such high powered machines is that the reaction time is much less compared to our indian bikes as we indian commuters just cant fathom out how difficult it is to drive these bikes as we are conditioned to drive 100 cc or in most extreme cases a 535 cc bullet.we must give 200% of our concentration.i suddenly realised how carelessly i used to drive my yamaha gladiator and now my new karizma on the highways and on the streets with out a thought in the world and care for the people around me.

driving these bikes is very cumbersome as, one its not your bike and your mind is preoccupied with this thought.the fear of a crash lingers on in your mind as you drive the bike.so you just cant enjoy the ride

second you are not used to such power and you must be conscious of the throttle opening you give,

and lastly the sorroundings you drive these bikes in people,traffic,cyclists,potholes,redlights,cops etc.i now realised on driving these bikes how thin the line was between staying alive and being dead.as everything happens so quickly before you know it you might end up dead if you dont know how to control these bikes.

“with great power comes even greater responsibility” and i think this saying is well justified in this case.

driving these bikes is not a romantic ideal as every indian dreams it to be.no sir its not, even a scratch on the bike would end up in the owner having sleepless nights for days on end.and the worst part is the engine heat that gets to your legs in indian weather conditions your legs will end up like a chicken tandoor drumstick with the heat that emanates from these bikes engines.

and these bikes run only on 97 octane petrol and the mileage in city use would be around 10 and on the highways 16 km/ltr.so the amount of money involved in running these bikes are really heavy guys

i guess the reality and dream world are two different things altogether.so if any body wants to buy a bike like this think twice.will it be suitable for our roads.since i live in chennai and hit the track or the highways every weekend the zx 14 would suit me fine and i would use my karizma for city use.but for different people the case is different.

so there you go folks an enlightenment session from a person who has experienced such high powered bikes and thought and reflected about the sacrifices and implications of owning a zx 14 on chennai roads.
