TVS to Produce Earlier Version of Apache RTR

The Apache RTR is one of the successful products from South India based TVS Motors. The brand is actually an outcome of TVS Racing, which has given life to many budding racers in the Indian sub – continent. The team paid a lot of attention at the time of Apache’s launch and to an extent, their efforts did not go waste. Initially, the company launched the Apache which was then re – branded as Apache RTR. The latest facelift was given for the Apache series in the month of April 2012. The facelift were completely cosmetic with major changes in the head – lamp scoops and the Air Intake side vents along the fuel tank.

This change was not appreciated by most of the RTR users and fans and this in turn made the enthusiasts to by bikes pertaining to other brands. In fact, we’d a lot of users complaining about this in out forum. A few of the users even headed on to the showrooms and made the dealers supply old stocks of Apache RTR series which they considered better looking than the new version.

Now, the great news we gave for all Apache lovers is that TVS has understood the mistake that the company committed in the form of a facelift. TVS has temporarily halted the production of the newer version of Apache RTR series (Update: We got communication from TVS that the new model production has not been halted.) and has started producing the earlier version which was much appreciated for its styling aspect.

But what we are not too sure is ‘Will TVS permanently phase out the production of newer version of the RTR?’ Also, is TVS trying to understand the customer’s perspective on Apache RTR series by temporarily coming up with the older version?  We’ve no words on these questions yet.

Whatever be the case, this is certainly a good news worth rejoicing. We hope this will make TVS get an edge when it comes to sales figures.
