The bread-and-butter motorcycle segment will soon have a new entrant, courtesy TVS Motors as these spyshots from Motorbeam.com suggest.

The 100-125 cc motorcycles market has been the mainstay of Indian biking scenario. These bikes have been known to transport families, livestock and businesses all across the country and it seems like the manufacturers cannot make enough of them.

This bike was seen testing near TVS Factory based in Hosur, TN. The photographs of the test bike would immediately remind you of the clutchless wonder ‘Jive’. The outer shell is almost a replica of the Jive however, the silencer resembles the 125cc Phoenix which TVS calls as a premium motorcycle in the segment. It has the ‘Ecothrust’ badge on the silencer shield which is present on Phoenix. The RVMs (rear view mirrors) are also from Phoenix.

A quick gaze at the engine also hints at the possibility of it being a bigger than 100cc mill. The test mule sports five-spoke alloys similar to Jive.

Now, this could be a 100cc or 125cc upcoming bike. Considering that TVS already has two models – TVS Sport (99.7cc) and TVS Star City (109.7cc), this appears to us as an entry level 125cc model which could be placed under their Phoenix.

TVS has some vacuum here and they can fill the gap with this model which may share its 125cc engine with Phoenix (possibly under a lower tune) and carry on in the shell of Jive. On Phoenix, this 125cc engine produces 11PS of max power output at 8000 rpm.

This mule comes devoid of any disc brakes and appears bare basic. In that segment, it will be a mass volume product targeting the entry level 125ccs in the market. There have been rumours suggesting that TVS may bring the ‘Victor’ brand name back into the market and a bleak possibility points at this bike sporting one.

Let us wait for clearer details on this, but what we understand is that TVS is preparing a lot of products to strike back in the market.
