SYM Cevalo 125 – Will Mahindra Bring This Motorcycle To India?

Mahindra’s collaboration with SYM, a Taiwanese two wheel manufacturer has given us quite some good refreshed models recently after Kinetic was bought by Mahindra. This Taiwanese manufacturer has recently come-up with it’s new stunning 125cc bike, the SYM Cevalo 125 which had left many manufacturers turn blue.

Seeing the connection that Mahindra has with SYM which is directly related to the current models, it would really be interesting if Mahindra takes some initiatives to bring this stunning bike to India as the potential for a 125cc segment bike that is loaded with features in India is more. Although there is not much information and technical details about this bike available, here’s what i got to know about this bike.

The bike is a four stroke, four valve SOHC fuel-injected air cooled 125cc engine that churns out 15bhp of raw power which is highly impressive for a 125cc bike.

The bike has a Yamaha FZ styled head lights, 5 spoke alloy wheels designed resembling the Honda CB1000RR, split seats, mono suspension, front disc brakes, all black engine finish, large dull finish stainless steel exhaust and not the least is the wider tyres that complements to the bike’s naked looks. So, much for a 125cc bike? Hold on to ur nerves biker boys! Auto-Expo is on it’s way to reveal the secret!

This bike looks hot and there is no doubt it originates from China. So much of copying in there.

Who cares even if it is a copy cat! If it comes to India it will definitely set the stage on fire.

Its a blatant copy of FZ-S and some other bikes. This is just expected from a Chinese maker. I also read that it comes with Fuel Injection. I wonder what its price would be

This bike seems to be too good to be true. If its true Mahindra should immediately launch it. But I am totally confused about the price.

No doubt that one of the best loooooooking bikes in India and backed by Mahindra, it should prove to be a great success. If priced below Rs 55,000 then every maker has to re-decide on their pricing strategy especially Honda.

Nice Byke, If it launched below 65,000 rupees, Mahindra will be stablished in the Two wheeler market …. As the power output is equal to 150 cc ..

Yea. Right. Dream on. No such bike is coming to India. I would never buy a bike that is not Japanese in Origin.

Taiwanese two-wheeler manufacturer SYM will show its new bike – the SYM Cevalo 125 – at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, next month. The company already manufactures the XS125 and Wolf 125 bikes, and the Ceval0 125 will be positioned at the top end of SYM’s 125s line-up. Over the next few months, it will be interesting to see how M&M leverages the partnerships which Kinetic had with companies like SYM, Hyosung and Italjet, and whether Mahindra Two-wheelers can take on Hero Honda, Suzuki, Bajaj and TVS etc in the scooters and entry-level bikes segments.

The FI version may cough up some problems about air pumps, fuel regulators,It would be a hit even if its released in carburetor version too since we Indians like to maintain budget in this sky high prices of fuel………

This is normal stuff in the international market. Honda CBR 125cc with similar technology has been around for some time with few more horses than 15, close to 18 horses. Fuel efficiency is close to 40 kmpl. Cost A$7000 or so.

If only Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha want to…..they can.
