Hero’s new brainchild Splendor iSmart is surprisingly out on sale and is priced at Rs. 57,200 on-road, Navi Mumbai, reports MotorBeam.com. The ‘Smart’ in iSmart is the Idle Stop-Start System. You come to a standstill and the iSmart system turns off the engine and when you need to move, press the clutch and the engine comes to life again! Hero MotoCorp claims 75 Kmpl for this new commuter from their stable.
The bike looks catchy in some colour combinations and awful in others! The saddle looks thick and comfortable and the graphics on the tank are love-me-hate-me design. The iSmart also has the much needed safety feature of a side stand warning indicator.
The iSmart comes with the 97.2cc air cooled, 4-stroke single good for about 7.6 bhp when you wring it up to 7500 RPM and the friendly push of 8.04 Nm can be gained as low as 4500 RPM. With that kind of output and fuel consumption figures, the iSmart can be called a friendly little putter and a cautious, social drinker.

The iSmart comes with a 5-year or 70,000 Km warranty and for just Rs. 2000 more than the Splendor Pro, you get power start, alloys, stylish meter console, and rather good return for every liter of petrol. No wonder the bike is already seeing a waiting period of a couple of weeks.
