New Avenger Spotted on the Roads With a Few Differences & its NOT the 200cc Engine From NS200

So, here they are… spyshots of the upcoming Avenger coming in thick and fast. Just yesterday we reported about the Avenger ‘Street’ which was spotted at some dealership, absolutely showroom-ready. And today, we have some spyshots of an Avenger mule being tested on the roads, credit Team-BHP.

Now, interestingly, the mule spotted here appears to be slightly different from the ‘Street’ version and this may hint at the possible confirmation that Bajaj is planning more than one variant of the cruiser. This mule runs on the regular steel wheels with spokes (and hence may NOT get tubeless tyres), The fork covers are also not present and it doesn’t get the all-black treatment. What is interesting to note is that the back rest is present on this mule which was replaced by a simpler grab rail on the Street variant.

Apart from all this, the pic above gives us a clearer pic of the engine with that oil-cooler and it appears to be the same 220 cc engine which has so far done duty. For sure, this is not the more modern 200 cc triple spark motor from the Pulsar AS200 or NS200.

If you read our initial articles when the speculations of new Avenger surfaced, we raised our apprehensions on the usage of the new 200 cc engine on motorcycle since it would require a comprehensive change to the chassis and the overall platform, which we think, Bajaj will NOT want to invest on considering the relatively lesser number of units (3000-4000 units per month) Avenger sells at present. Launch of the new motorcycle is expected soon….
