R15 is a smarter choice. Looks of R15 is better than Ninja. In terms of performance you can't compare Kawasaki with Yamaha, Everybody knows the dominance of Yamaha in Moto GP.

my congrats to kawasaki for introducing the ninja 250R!my only suggestion is:please be open to the comments of your "fans" so that certain improvements or corrections can be made to avoid future "embarassments" re this great bike!Kawasaki used to make the "spectre" and LTD models in the early 80's,can you revive these great cruisers for old school lovers like me?he he he!But it should be equipped with uni-trak rear suspension and other modern and upgraded "watchamacallit" to compete against the best models in its class. probably 150 t0 250cc will do. Congrats guys and more power!!! my best regards for a job well done. ( -nonong d. , exodus trailblazers zambo city philippines)

Shobhan & Avi: With all due respect to your love towards this bike, I would like you to focus on some points.
R6, GSX or any other 600's comes for $ 8 to 10K in US. leaving aside the tax when imported, it works out to be Rs 500,000 approx. Appart from the whopping power they have got, there are lot of other excellent things in the bike like diamond frame alluminium chasis to support the power, inverted sophesticated shocks, wider tyres, bigger brakes and the list is long. So when I say Ninja 250r needs to justify its price its not only in terms of the power. Quality and specifications matters. I guess R15 is a hit only because of its quality and these characteristics. Imagine Indians buying 150 CC bike for A lakh, definately noone was willing to pay for the lovely fairing.
Bajaj / Kawasaki needs to come out with 'a walk' of its pricing else its going to be like Comet (leaving aside the poor quality of Comet). What I feel is coming out with Fuel injected was a wrong decision, cos its one reason why the price is disproportionately high. Europe does not get a FI version but its still a hit over there. Also not sure if the new exhaust has contributed to the increase in price. Also parts are imported so tax on spare parts added to it. Hope good luck to Ninja 250 R.

Another Option: I would rather buy a Comet (I know its a poor quality bike, but still justifies the price). 250 CC with inverted shocks, bigger disk brakes at Rs 1.85 lakhs. I think its a good deal.
