Honda’s all new CB Twister has company now, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters in India (HMSI) has silently renamed the super refined 150cc Unicorn to CB Unicorn. The bike has also gone through few minor upgrades in order to make it adhere to the Bharat Stage III norms coming into effect from April 1st.

The bike now comes with slightly bigger ‘CB UNICORN’ badge on the side rear cowls. The engine has been left untouched with the same disappointing power output of 13.3 bhps. All the other technicals also remain exactly the same.
However, the new viscous air filter which has been doing rounds on all the new launches by the company also finds its place on this new model which helps in cutting down on ownership costs as this filter needs less frequent maintenance and aids in better breathing of the engine. Buyers also get one more color option ‘Pearl Siena Red’ apart from the existing metallic Black & Silver.

The new bike will cost Rs. 67,000 on road Pune. It remains to be seen how this bike would be received by the masses as many had pinned hopes on the possible launch of the same radical concept displayed at the Auto Expo 2010. It also remains to be seen how long would Honda stretch the same engine without any proper technical upgrade!

What? This is a serious blow for all unicorn lovers who were expecting something interesting from Honda! This attitude is not going to help Honda in India. Why is Honda shying away from a proper unicorn upgrade? Does anyone have an answer?
Of course, in the age of new fz, gs 150s, we again get a minor tweaked Honda Unicorn. New colors! Thats what we get for an even increased price. Atleast some sticker work or even a new headlight would do. Unicorn is desperately in need of a major facelift and the dwindling sales do prove it.
Wonder if they are going to release the concept unicorn shown in the auto expo?
Is it BS-IV or BS-III norm that is coming into effect from April 1st. Meanwhile can the new air-filter be fitted to older versions(ver-2)?
I wonder what CB means. Many honda bikes are associated with that 2 letters. CBR, CBz etc…
CB generally stands for City Bike, although not officially documented by Honda. Worldwide they use the term CB.
Woooow Honda has really taken us for a ride.
Business as usual with Honda.. one should never expect exotic upgrades from Honda.. at the most they will add much desired features(or basic) but not present in their models. Of course.. the usual stickering jobs and new colours are always there.
What the hec?????!!!!!!……a renaming…..is honda trying to play mind games…..wat does d company want to prove with just renaming n nt upgrading????…….dey sure gonna b in for a loss in d 150cc segment if dey continue to dissapoint like this
Ah shit that was a great disappointment from honda a few months back i thought of upgrading myself from 100cc to 150cc and at that time my only choices were suzuki gs 150 and honda unicorn i thought of waiting for the new upgraded unicorn but my heart was just forcing me to go for gs 150r because it offers better comfort manly feel while riding , great mileage for 150cc,good engine refinement, superb stability at greater speeds, quickest to reach 100 after r15 and all in all a great value for money,so now i realize that i ve taken a good decision going for gs and guys trust me it has been 2 months since i ve brought this bike all i can say is this bike is just fantastic and innovative from other 150cc bikes and moreover it gives me mileage within 55-58 in city and on highways i get 64-68 with which i am very much satisfied and one more thing this bike gives you a great feel when ridden in power mode
Unicorn lovers would have expected the Sport model to be released. Not one more ‘variant’… And frankly, that Red color looks positively ‘disappealing’…
Honda seems to be going on the Hero Honda way
Produced an good vehicle later on no major upgrades like Hero Honda they also do only cosmetic changes and occasional minor tweaks
CB?? does it mean cool bike??
so the only difference is is the name and colour nad airfilter. then why should they changed the name to CB UNICORN. every one waiting for the sports unicorn shown in auto expo 2010 with back disc brake, but i think they are not planning to launch that. is there any info about that?
hero honda and honda do not know how to upgrade their bikes . look at the new stunner, it is nowhere near the pulsar 135 ls . honda stands nowhere in the performance segment in india except the expensive cbr bikes
What a crap ?? Atleast u can do sticker job as you always
. Price increase by around 2000/- for 1 viscous filter and this is all which makes your Honda unicorn a CB Unicorn haha. Nice recipe.
Hi guys the new sports version of unicorn is releasing by the end of this year and the only upgrade they ve come with is the look and there is no digital instrumentation. Finally coming to cost factor it is around 70,000 for more details check this site
@ arun are you talking about the unicorn that shown in the auto expo 2010 a white unicorn with back disc brake?
yes athul i am talking about the new sports version of unicron displayed at auto expo 2010 for further details check this site
http://autos.maxabout.com/bikes/honda/unicorn-sport/twid546
Athul, yes Arun is talking about that.
thanks arun and fas….
so i need to wait for the last month of this year….
i would sure buy that one if bajaj didnt introduced any new bike with monoshock.
oh i’ll tell
cb=completely bakwas/bekar
Its Very disappointing HONDA INDIA……..!!!
you shld hav brought the Concept tat u hav shown this year..
hey athul i v got some personal suggestion y dont you take a test ride of suzuki gs 150r and then compare it with honda unicorn trust me brother you will surely find a great difference between both of them
And moreover athul please dont go for bajaj products at any cost because initially it will be good but later on the parts starts loosing its quality and you will find this problem very quickly.I suggest you go for honda, herohonda, suzuki products they are very much reliable
Whaaattttt? This is 2010 unicorn? Then what about auto expo concept? Really disapontment. I was waiting from jan for buying newer unicorn, but this is really a cheat for unicorn lover. I m feeling like i m betrayed!
Honda itself suggesting people to by hero honda hunk/extreme rather than uni.
I cant wait for next year to see sports concepted new unicorn as in auto expo. Sorry Honda, I m going to others shop…
cb means cross beam
Even if the sports concept of unicorn is out it wont succeed because by that time suzuki, yamaha, tvs have got some few surprises for the indian buyers, they are planning to launch 200 and 250cc bikes with great design and power
I think this is a foolish question but….
Which one you think better… new cb unicorn or unicorn….
I actually booked for one and my delivery date is next month.
Will i be getting the new cb unicorn????
yes a heartbrake again from Honda! why dont they listen to the UNI Fans. such a great bike being given such a shabby treatment! Does honda want its customers to go for its CBRs and Fireblades?
Guys i forgot to tell you all mahindra is planning to launch 150cc bike later this year if that is going to happen all the other 150cc bikes will have tough competition with mahindra
Dissapionting guys !!!!!! I have lost faith in HONDA !!! May go for an FZ-16 instead….
Even if you have not lost faith in Honda, FZ-16 is a better buy if you are looking for a monster-like, macho streetfighter which screams “I am Youth”. Unicorn is more of a commuter ride best suitable for family men, not for youth.
Brothers let me tell you all one thing according to me buying an yamaha fz bike is not a good idea because the only good thing that can be found in that bike is great handling and superb design but in other departments like engine refinement, cost of spare parts, value for money, taking for long rides, mileage, cost factor and initial pick up this bike is not worth 73k,what i am trying to say is if further of 10k is invested you get karizma and by investing an extra of 1000k you get apache 180 which has got better pick up and achieves better top speed than fz think about it …..
Took my delivery of Suzuki GS150R last week. Im glad I didn’t listen to all those who told me to by Unicorn. There is a 3-5 month waiting list anyway whereas my Suzki came in 8 days. Imagin waiting 5months to know that your bike has been upgraded: in name only!
GS150Rs sales are definetely going up thanks to Honda’s long watiging list
Hey dd congrats on going for a good decision even i had this confusion of going for suzuki gs or unicorn but i went for gs because suzuki guys told me that i would get the bike within 4 days along with registration but when i went to honda showroom to buy unicorn they said that it would take more than 2 months to get this bike along with registration so not only that when i personally took a test ride on both of them i found gs is far better than unicorn in some aspects so i went for gs my first service is done and i ve clocked 3100km and i am very very much satisfied with the bike
watha pongada badugalaaaaa
Editor Note: @ Arun, shame on ur part to post such a nasty comment in ur language. On behalf of other sensible readers u’ve been awarded invisible comments hereafter!
hey hey sorry guys that wasn’t me i just left the system with this web page loaded as such and went for clash of the titans movie in the mean time my stupid idiotic and mindless friend did this and i really feel sorry for this and i mean it ,its a promise that i wont repeat this again and be cautious here after
sincere apologies from one of your bike advice brothers arun
Editor Note: @ Arun, apologies accepted this time. Don’t leave this scar again! Happy Biking!
@arun
Thanks for the opinion. I am a FS owner.
Let me state out mine…
You cannot trust a TVS bike to live as long as the Yamaha. Look at all the RXs still on road.
Also, who said Yamaha engine is not refined?
And, FZ’s greatest feat is, it is absolutely comfortable for long rides. Try it out before commenting on something.
If you look for mileage and acceleration, this bike is not for you.
FZ is all about styling(you’ll feel it in traffic signals and parking), handling(make a sudden stop or go for a faster turn) and rider comfort(absolutely suitable for long distance travel without back pains).
Hey guys,
I am planning to buy Unicorn (now CB Uni) and had already booked one. Like all I am too bit disappointed as they havn’t the launched the sports version(shown in Expo). The reason to buy this bike now being the reply from Honda guys. Find below the reply from honda
“Dear Sir,
We thank you for visiting our website and expressing your interest in Honda Products
At Honda, we constantly add value to our products to meet varying demands of our customers. At present we don’t have any plans to introduce concept model. Concept model displayed are only to exhibit design capabilities/ excellence and capture customer voice & liking. When ever any product is upgraded or a new variant is to be launched, we release such information/communication through newspaper, media etc”
Hi friends i got a new Honda cb unicorn pearl siena red, and there is no waiting period i got it instantly from Guwahati Assam. believe me this is the best bike ever in 150 cc segment. You can rely much, most comfortable and u will feel that u are just gliding, i am in sales of an mnc pharma and i had rode in almost every bike in this segment even i own a p 180 2008 model but unicorn is the best among all bet 150 to 180 cc bikes, i had saved my money to get cb unicorn, and i am now very satisfied. Now i am a wing rider. THANKS HONDA
Hi Gourav,
I am also planning to go for a unicorn (Pearl Siena Red). How the color looks when the bike gets older?..Do u have any complaints regarding this color. Please reply..
Hey terror bike i am not commenting here blindly that fz engines are not that refined because one of my friend who owned fz for the past 7 months was complaining about the refinement of the engine and comfort levels and got fed up so he sold his fz for RS.58,000and brought the new apache 180 with which he is very very much satisfied in terms of mileage, initial pick up and handling and of course he says that handling and styling of apache is not that great as fz and i agree with it , moreover my friend faced problems with comfort levels when me with gs 150r,my friend with fz-16,and two of our friends one with apache 160cc and the other with unicorn went to pondicherry from chennai ,at the end of our trip it was gs who scored highest marks in terms of comfort levels handling, mileage and great stability at high speeds and fz scored only in terms of handling and nothing else his back was paining so hard that we had to stop for every 80kms and moreover i am not against fz even i am a hard core fan of yamaha products but after seeing my friends struggle with that bike i feared going for fz
Hey suraj i ve got a small suggestion for you buddy why dont you take a test ride of new suzuki gs 150r if you are not satisfied with new unicorn i mean gs offers good mileage ,great stability at high speeds, digital instrumentation, two modes eco(13.4 bhp) and power(14.1bhp)top speed 124 which i got when ridden in power mode ,better looks than unicorn and all in all a great value for money i am telling you all these because even i was very much confused with unicorn and gs but when i took test rides of both the bikes i found gs to be more good in some major aspects so think about it brother and go for some good desicion
Hey suraj try a test ride on GS150R am sure it never disappoint you
The latest update from Honda
Per honda vasthu they renamed Shine to CB Shine
Next one should be CB Activa
Hey @madhu nice comment..
But to be honest i dint like the GS150R looks. Rather i liked the unicorn more. And also i hv heard tht at high speeds for GS the engine sound changes which could be annoying for some fellows(might be for me
).
Anyway thanks for all ur suggestions mate!!
Cheers!!
Hi madhu do you own a suzuki gs150r
can anyone tell the top speed (speedometer one) of unicorn attainable? please no exaggeration.
@ suraj,
Hope we will read your CB Unicorn review after 3 months
Either its GS150R or any vehicle the sound depends up on the silencer and tuning a good example is Hunk and Unicorn shares the same engine but sound is diffrent
Three of my friends using GS150R we gone for a trip to chennai from bangalore and never heard such kind of sound anoying sound from any of bikes we revd up to 110 kmph
On any vehicle engine sound depends up on how you maintain it
Unicorn is a silent among rest of them
@ arun
Currently I am using GS150R Black
I do have RX100, and 2000 model splendor
hey madhu thanks for replying even you ve got my taste brother previously i owned yamha rx 100 with which i ruled the streets with great speeds and after that i brought passion plus in 2008 and currently i own suzuki gs 150r candy orange coloured one with which i ve kept my mind not go for any bike for 5 years because gs150r stole my heart with its performance and innovative pleasure
hey ravz the top speed that unicorn can achieve is 108km\h i am not telling this blindly one of my friend owns it and the top speed he got was 108km\h
Current unicorn is still the best 150CC bike I have ridden. The only sore point is its styling. Honda should have done something.
hey guys…!!!….rode te normal unicorn on 21st march..like te bike..booked it…they said approx 67211..but now i find another version …cb unicorn…and gosh the rates have jumped to 72k includin accesories…man…tat was steep…dunno the bike looks te same except for the filter thay say have changed..and some bharath 4 norms…wat ever it is …te bike is fine…but not so costly…gosh..!!!….
@ bangalore airport road suzuki showroom you can book and take home the GS150R for rupees 69K with teflon coating and few accessories
I can’t pay 72 k for just the sticker work
My street corner number plate guy will put better stickers for 250 rupees
Hey guys,
Please help me to find a decision to buy a 150cc bike.
I booked a Unicorn at Kochi [kerala] on January 7, 2010 and I am still waiting to get that [Now its CB Unicorn].
Should I wait for that or go for any alternative [Pulsar150 or Suzuki GS150R ]
Thanks in advance
ajeesh
Hey ajeesh,
What the wait period was almost 4 months
That’s too much man even my swift came with in 65 days
Why you are still waiting
Take help from consumer forum and file a suite ask for compensation; let them face you on court
You are a prestigious customer the king not a comedian they should not treet just like that
hey ajeesh if you are not satisfied with the new renamed unicorn go for gs i own it and the bike is excellent don’t keep any alternatives in mind go head straight for a suzuki showroom tomorrow and take a test ride of it and i am 100% sure that you wont be disappointed
@ madhu and arun
Thanks for the reply.
I decide to go for Suzuki GS150R.
Yeah.. Honda Waiting period is horrible..
More funny thing is, For present booking of Unicorn, dealers at Kochi demanding a waiting period of 5 to 6 MONTHS [????]
@ Ajeesh, Its good you decided Good Luck let us know once u got it
What 6 months wait period sounds weird may be dealers trying to create a hype for unicorn
What the heck man seriously waiting for more than 3 months is completely for your new bike is so weird and out of call, anyway ajeesh finally you ve gone for a great choice and by the way take a test ride before you go for gs150r
hi, i booked my unicorn yeah… CB Unicorn (bangalore) and i am told that i will get it in 1month max..i dont knw hw com its 6months in kerala..
before bookin i did a lot of research (2months)on the bikes and finally had a dream riding a unicorn, some may feel it weird but thats probably wat i want.
i had test ride on GS 150,pulsar,extreme and i feel CB Uni is in a differnt league frm others…GS150 R comes closer to Uni in some cases beats Uni but i hav my own doubts abt suzuki…the sales hav gone down, somhow its not clickin wit plp…extreme again is yunger brother to Uni and i dint like the looks of the bike.. wheras Pulsar has good style power but engine is not all that refined..and also the ride is not very comfortable.
hi all the changes that are into effect for the new CB Uni from my study…
1. Air filter to further refine ur engine hence mainteinance a very nice ad-on trust me
2. Suspension has been wrked upon due to some complaints on the earlier models though not very serious…
3. Rear Tyre has gone modification
4. Seating arrangement has been improved to give further smooth ride and BS-3
and finally
5. Budget has added few bucks to the final value
All that i can say don’t expect big things to happens frm legendary companies without compromising on ur wallet
Hey guys when comparing to honda suzuki stands out as the best in bringing out great products like hayabusa, intruder, gladius i am not saying that honda products are some crap like bajaj products but when comparing suzuki is good
Hi raghav,
Like u he (Ajeesh) also booked unicorn it seems at the time of booking they said one month and that was repeatedly told by the dealer for the past 6 months (sales / mktg ppl always tell lies to reach their target)
Unicorn is a nice choice for one who doesn’t bother about looks, style, latest gadets, yes its a superb bike only in terms of performance
Hope you have enough patience to wait and take home yours
@Arun n madhu,
suzuki is good i too agree but i hav the followin thngs which r debatable…
suzuki products r nt fairing wel in India its a fact…GS has the lowest sales in 150cc segment and suzuki is not plannin on ny new variants as far as i knw..i dnt see enough GS150 on the roads…tis is not to hurt the owners feeling but the looks are not appealing for the price paid.. if sales keep low hw wil the suzuki look after its customers for service is my concern..
Looks shud nt b a criteria if tat is one thr r much better lookin ones than GS..
as far as cluster/panel goes the only thng i like in pulsar is the side stand indicator…a analog meter still rules compared to digital one…
at the end of the day u want to go bac to bed without any problem..
yes u may feel im someone who is not of tis generation but trust me…Unicorn is macho in real sense thn ny 150 segment bikes…0-40 suzuki n pulsar win hands down…40-80 is wen the macho comes to play tat is whr Honda engine rules…
n i knw wen the bike acts macho…bcoz i also hav the beast the 500cc royal enfield
hey guys!! hv u chekd the latest news bout CB Dazzler..the one shown in delhi auto expo this yr.
Bike seems to b cool but i hardly found anywhr mentioned bout the engine power increased… thts disappointing again man!!
HI Ragav you know what suzuki gs 150 r is the only bike in 150cc to reach 100 very quickly after r15.GS150r has got better looks than unicorn and moreover the engine refinement mid range torque is fantastic but the only negative factor in gs is that it gets noisy at high speeds and the top sped that i personally achieved was 128 in ecr road(chennai) and which bikes gives you the following features just for 68k,
1.6 speed gear box for smooth ride at higher speeds
2. dual modes(power(14 bhp) and eco(13.8 bhp)
3.digital instrumentation
4.Quickest to reach 100 after r15
5.Great stability at greater speeds even after crossing 115+
6.superb engine refinement and strong mid range torque
7.Tank capacity of 15.5
8.Amazing comfort to both rider and pillion for long distance for travels
don’t just blindly give out comments i agree that you are a fan of unicorn but do consult a person who is using gs 150r since 6 months about his satisfaction levels with the bike and i am 100% sure that the verdict will be like this “this bike has got great value for money than other 150 cc bikes can go for it blindly” this comes for 68k with delivery within max 1 week but unicorn comes for 67k with a delivery of 2 months max now say which one is better
And one more thing i brought this bike just for 66k as there was an offer given by the showroom guys so i think that for 66k buying gs is the one of the best decisions i have made in my life so far
and coming to mileage figures in city i get around 56-57kmpl and on highways i get 66-69kmpl
And moreover raghav please dont compare bajaj products with suzuki suzuki products are international and their standards are pretty high, and who said that suzuki are not having plans to introduce new bikes this year whatz up brother suzuki is planning to launch its 250cc bike by the end of this year and by the end of this july they are going to launch 2 new super bikes (600cc,999cc)
Hi Raghav,
Am not supporting nor against honda
Hey guru don’t give fase information
Check out on any website O to 40 pulsar and unicorn wins and on 50 to 100 ill bet its one and only GS150R is the winner
Am just pointing out that honda is just doing minor updates in unicorn from the time it was introduced
Mono suspension is the major plus point of it that’s all
if rest of the competitors are giving latest technology bikes with better quality at the same or slightly lesser price then why should I go for honda for the same old engine and sticker upgrades ( no change on major componunts)
Any brand u take the service depends on the dealer not the cpmpany
For me suzuki service is good at bangalore
Moreover check out the spares cost for honda its costlier than bajaj and suzuki
I can’t stop laughing if some one calls unicorn as macho coz
Generaly in real sense we use the term macho for a muscular strong guy
In terms of bikes
Unicorn doesn’t have any musceles like pulasr or apache
Royal enfield is a muscular one in terms of look weight and the thump silencer sound
But unicorn and RE 500 cc are completly diffrent man coz unicorn silencer note is silence or damn low
i knew i was dealing wit plp who only look at the exteriors…
madhu macho was in technical terms a 150kg man wit all the fat is not the same as a 90kg physically fit guy..
i dont thnk i will compromise on engine noise at higher speed it only tells u abt the engine quality…
gettin a bike in 1 week/ a offer doesnt tell abt its quality but its declining sales..a product is marketed more only in 2 cases either it is doing extraordinary business or no business and i dont see gs doing the former one…
i m not sayin its bad bike its preety good bike better than pulsar/apache but takes second to honda for its engine capability…
may be u plp dont giv much of a thought to engine but after 1 year its the engine who talks and not the looks…
and i dont thnk anybody compares a 500cc with 150
@arun u do admit the engine noise which is not a plus but a big -ve atleast for me…please next time wen u try 80+ have a pillion rider to further get to knw ur engine..hope it fares well
regarding the looks…Enfield dint modify much bcoz its age old look is a statement and i am prety much sure Unicorn will succeed in that sense…looking at thr steady growth eversince launched..
Don’t be disappointed guys! It seems Honda is going to launch CB Dazzler in the third week of May. The bike will have rear and front disc brakes, digital speedometer. For more details check out this link http://www.thehindu.com/mp/2010/04/28/stories/2010042850800400.htm
A Well Writen Comparision between unicorn and GS150R
please read
http://www.autoindiaforum.com/honda-unicorn-vs-suzuki-gs150r.html
@Raghav, I fully agree wid u man. As a conservative consumer we often take/buy things to run over a long term.
@Nikhil
Dude the changes seems to be only the cosmetic changes. Is thr any news bout the engine performance of the dazzler??
Hey madhu,
thrs very little betn the two macha(hope its fine wit u being a banglorean)…
its a good bike i never doubt its performance but it still has to prove itself like the Honda..
6 speed gear is very good only for highways..as far as the 2 modes i agree it alerts ones mind hence the mileage..
i hope u too agree the fact tat Unicorn is way too smooth in riding than GS, be it sharp turnings..stability due to monoshocks..
i will agree to the fact tat it doesnot hav fancy cluster with all the digital thing goin in also the lED tail lamps..
yes for some it may b a factor to decide against CB Uni.
may b i dont hav such needs hence doesnot bother abt it..
At the end of it i hope v all ride safely..
@Suraj: I don’t think there will be any drastic changes in the engine performance. I think they are launching it to weather the onslaught by Bajaj and TVS which offer more goodies like digital speedometer, etc.,
Hi raghav,
Ppls opinion, taste differs
In different language the same word gives different meaning
In my understanding bikes like yamaha FZ, Apache, and pulsar are macho looking but they can’t be called as fat guy they are muscuar (like 6 packs gym boy) and stylish bikes designed to attract young crowd
They are the head turners
That’s why I didn’t accepted bland looking unicorn as a macho bike
Unicorn and gs150r are commuter segment bikes ment for long term no problem segment
There are only few diffrences between this two bike
Unicorn is well refined from the time you bought it but GS150R will give butter smooth ride after crossing the second service
Even the sale of unicorn is in the same stage of GS150R During its entry period
More over in international market both suzuki and honda are in equal level
Like honda products suzuki’s earlier products such as MAX100, fiero, samurai are still going fine with out problem moreover spares are cheeper for suzuki
If you seen the sales graph of suzuki from jan 2010 to mar 2010 its in increasing trend only
Till this time no one writen the review for CB unicorn on bike advice hope you would be the first to give us the review on CB Unicorn
Hey raghav u asked me to check out the speed along with pillion(64 kg) i did it yesterday(1st may) in chennai(ecr road) in both modes and the figures which i got was like this eco mode(106-6thgear),powermode (114-6thgear) now you tell me brother,gs has got capacity to reach 130 in power mode and in economy mode it reaches 110 max wereas in unicorn it takes time to reach 110 it succeeds only upto 80 and after that unicorn struggles to reach 100 and moreover unicorn doesnt deliver the stability at higher speeds
like gs and brother please don’t underestimate the engine quality of suzuki first of all i made a thorough enquiry before buying gs with one of the person who is using gs for the past 1 and half years and he admitted that though there is engine noise at greater speeds the engine is still the same like what when he brought back when it was brand new.
And raghav coming to cost of the spare parts suzuki spare parts are cheaper than honda check any dealer in honda and suzuki you will find honda spare parts to be more costlier than suzuki i am not against honda i love honda products but at the same time when it comes to more value for money it is suzuki that wins, both the companies stand out in delivering the same quality but the cost factor in honda is more so that is the reason y i went for suzuki gs after making enquiry with the person who is using gs for the past 1 and half year
@madhu and all..
i wil definitely write once i get it..but i think it’ll b the same as Unicorn only on a longer run the air filters might turn useful, i am actually lookin fwd to the suspension.
i dint find any diff though during my test rides(twice) with the CB Uni or previous Uni.
look v both wud hav made sensible decisions to our own…
i wanted a bike which is hassle free at the same time executive in its look..and i thnk it is still stylish in its own way plus we shud nt only look the headlight wen it comes to looks..
just y i dint go for GS150R
* the looks i dint find them appealing u may as wel go for CBZ or pulsar
* the tank to big for a 150cc segment commuter bike dnt find it easy(quick) to take turns compared to Unicorn
* the dealer did not explain me properly as to hw the digital display speedo is not performing bcoz i wanted to check the rpm and speedo for traffic ride…may b 1 in 100/1000 case
* makes noise at high speeds 75+
just y GS is better than Unicorn
* the so called macho look though the side look disappoints..
* 6-gear very helpful for long rides but for city hardly u will reach tat gear…
* digital display, multiple modes, led tail lamps..its a big reqt for few..
* good initial pickup i still feel beats Unicorn here…
@arun..
that’s good if the bike has performed well
as far as spare parts is concerned i guess thr r very few who complain abt honda spare part price…
i hav given my comments as to y i dint go for GS150R
i was never against the bike but jus dint find it better than Honda..
Hey Guys,
Gr8 news for all the Uni lovers. HMSI launched the new Dazzler, cosmetic changes with 14BHP power. Wat else is needed in a 150cc bike? sexy looks, digital gizmos, gud power 14 BHP,tubeless tyres, front n rear disc breaks. I m dying to chk this out in any of the showrooms.
All other bikes RTR,GS150,Gulsar,hunk are no match to this beast now.
Cheers.
Hey raghav please control your excitment before commenting blindly ,i know that you are excited about the launch of cb dazzler but it doesnt mean that it outruns the existing bikes like gs 150r,hunk and RTR. No one knows about the issues with the bike like stability at greater speeds, how quick it reaches 100 and is it good for highways drive and i am pretty sure that the sales figures of this bike wont be as impressive like older unicorn and moreover this bike comes with a whooping price tag of more than 74,000
sorry my lad (raghav) that comment wasnt for your it was for suraj
@Arun
COm’on man!! Its honda and they wud never launch a bike without doin any homewrk and m so positive bout it coz they r the latest to launch the new 150cc bike after surveyin the current 150cc mkt (nt coz m a honda fan).
I know u r a proud owner of gs150 but tht shud nt make u against Hondas. Y be so pessimistic? Cheers man!! No offence intended.
I know a lot of buyers considering Suzuki GS150R are concerned that the sales are not doing well for Suzuki. My advice, for those who are worried that the sales are not good: go take a test ride. Period.
Here are some reasons for Suzukis low sales:
Suzuki is the newest entrant in the Indian market and Indian buyers are reluctant to “experiment” with a “new” manufacturer; forget the fact that Suzuki has been in India in a tie-up with TVS from ages(remeber the tagline: Suzuki Samurai, no problem!).
People typically link reliability with age. So Suzuki will not be treated as reliable by Indian buyers for another 4-5 years.
For a new player the best way to make a dent in a crowded market is to be a price player. That is what TVS did after it went solo. Suzuki, like a good Jap company, doesnt play on price( compare Sony’s prices with Indian electronic manufacturers, you’ll get the point). Which is why they haven’t made a big break in the sales. Indian buyer’s take low sales as meaning “there is some problem with the bike” and dont buy it. It becomes a loop.
There has been a rumour going around,(deliberate or not ) that Suzuki may close shop in a year or two due to low sales. That is what the neighbourhood “Honda uncle” told me to persuade me to change my mind when I told him that I was going for a Suzuki. I reasoned that Suzuki would not have jumped into a crowded market without thinking long term. After all opening a motorbike unit takes a hell of an investment and nobody will shut down without trying for at least 10 years. Besides Suzuki is already involved in the 4-wheeler segment and doing very well there so they have no reason to pack their bags in the near future.
Poor marketing. No excuses on that front.
Style: They certainly can do better here. Merely calling a tank as “majestic” is not going to cut ice with everyone.
dazzlers out…was hoping for a better one though, even dint do my payment till yesterday..n im just abt happy for the college going boys, i guess tey wud hav expected a bit more…the bike looks good but got hugely disappointed by the headlight..
engine is tweaked to b competent but wud b a fantastic bcoz its the same old grt8 unicorn engine…
engine wudn’t b a silent killer so expect some sporty sound
i liked the side look but, hav a small concern wen on rainy days may b the water gets spilled/sprinkled onto the trousers..
comin to price it had to increase due to the digi meters disk brake n some engine tweaks…
so for me it wud b 7/10 (targeted mainly for under 24)
still very happy for my CB unicorn which i will get tis wknd..
so for all those who changed thr mind for the waitin period i wil get it in less than 1 month, yes i had to b extra friendly with the dealer manager, u gottu do it sometimes to get ur wrk done
Honda waiting for a 200cc monster…may be by 2013 tat shud come out..till then i will will adore my CB unicorn

honda should bring in a 170cc version of the UNICORN with 18-19bhp and torque of 23nm…..!!!!!! ADD to it the DURABILITY AND SMOOTHNESS THAT HONDA ALREADY POSSESSES. “THIS IS NOTHING BUT A NUKE TO EXPLODE”.

Hi amit i suggest you go for gs150r because it is far superior to unicorn in terms of technology and features offered at that price tag in one line i can say that it is a great value for money product anyways just take a test ride of both the bikes(unicorn and gs150r)
Hi friends i’m an ardent fan of Honda (now). I’ll give you a clear picture of which bike is better. I & my friend has both CB Unicorn & Pulsar. CB Unicorn – Better comfort, mileage, durability. Pulsar- Comfort (not upto the mark), mileage (no), durability (not steady). I waited for more than three months for CB Unicorn and at last got the bike. I don’t regret for waiting since it is better than any other bike i have rode and i’m telling you this from my heart. I had CBZ, my brother had Hunk and my friends had Apache and GS150R. We all drove each others bike and came to a conclusion that all of them liked CB Unicorn. CB Unicorn has a uniform weight all around and the jerk is well-balanced even if the bike is in full throttle. We all went for long drive and everyone loved to drive CB Unicorn. Once you pass the third gear you wont feel the engine sound, it’s so smooth, no wear & tear for long-term (Guaranteed). It is trendy too for youth’s and good value for money. I strongly recommend everyone to buy CB Unicorn especially the Pearl Black. There was once this saying that “Honda stays longer than your best friends” i agree to that quote now.
hey guys… wanted to ask the milage of d new honda cb unicorn???
iam using the new cb unicorn bike and my bike milage is 55kms/lit. The preformance is excellent
I am just 19 yrs old n i have slim body. i am planning to buy honda unicorn but i am confused with cbz extreme both bikes are similar to each other in terms of price and manufacturers. i think cbz looks good on slim people and unicorn looks good on fat or hunks.i want a better suiting bike for me….So what do you think?please help
buy unicorn dazzler or tvs apache rtr 180
buy CB unicorn dazzler or TVS apache rtr 180
i think APACHE IS BEST because it has 10 cc more than cbz and unicorn and it also have more pickup (15.2 BHP AND 17.3 PS) but remaining both bikes have nearly 14 BHP and also APACHE RTR 180 gives 50 + mileage
iam using the new cb unicorn bike and my bike milage is 45kms/lit. The preformance is bad
please tell me what is meant by CB , why that name come to honda bikes
