74 kmpl New Honda LIVO Launched at 52,989 [Pic Gallery]

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has launched yet another model in their 110 cc line-up, the Livo, starting at Rs 52,989 ex-showroom in Delhi making it their flagship offering in the segment and it is placed between the Dream Yuga and 125cc CB Shine.

Honda currently has a mere 6 per cent market share in the 100-110 cc segment and as we revealed a few days back, they have not been able to penetrate Hero’s market with their Dream motorcycles (report here). The company hopes that with the LIVO, which is their 4th motorcycle in the segment, they will create some inroads in this segment.

Livo targets first time buyers who are zestful and want some sportiness in their motorcycles and this list includes students, executives and young entrepreneurs.

Honda Livo Engine

The engine is the very familiar 109.19 cc air cooled mill churning out 8.25 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 8.36 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. It is mated to a 4 speed gearbox and has a claimed top speed of 86 kmph and a rated fuel efficiency of 74 kmpl. The Honda Eco Technology (HET) engine uses Honda Intelligent Ignition Control System (HIICS) enabling the engine to deliver power output as per requirement.

The tank gets a neat looking shroud with strong lines and bears a 3D wing mark and yes, there is a Unicorn 160 resemblance somewhere. The instrument cluster is snazzy but we are not sure if we will call it interesting. It gets utilities like a maintenance free battery, 5 step adjustable rear suspension and tubeless tyres.
