Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler Video Review – Launching BikeAdvice TV!

by Deepak on June 10, 2010

Sometimes we feel like creating a video review of a bike just like the Car & Bike show on NDTV. Though we are not there yet with actors and expensive video cameras, we have tried our best to create a video review of Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler.

Videos are hot right now and this trend is too hard to ignore. We may not publish videos for every article, but for major news and reviews, you can sit back and click play at the YouTube videos from now on at the all new BikeAdviceTV channel! Hope you enjoy it!

Watch the video in 480p if you have good bandwidth, its much better that way!

Let us know what you think of our new initiative. Leave a comment!

Regards,
Deepak

Good work Deepak. Definitely a stepping stone. Guess the background voice is a system generated one!!.

Hats off to you Deepak,

You have handled the Software awesome, Its like a Real person speaking, Good Pace and Tone Maintenance.

But you got modify the Spelling of certain words while typing in the software to pronounce it perfectly. Like the word “Pune” at 02.41 min is Pronounced as “Pe-un” instead of “Pu-nae”. Great work! Really Bike advice is the Only portal which is Truly not biased towards any Bike Manufacturer.

@Captain Obvious,

The voice is recorded by a professional voice over guy in a studio. He is not from India. He did not know how to pronounce Pune! Though we are from India, we prefer American/UK accent for listening. That’s why I am using his service. I couldn’t imagine how bad it would be if I spoke :)

it beats me to understand what qualifies Deepak to become a bike expert?

all that was in the video and in this blog was just what is already known about the bike. it was just rewritten and represented.

does that make him a bike expert?

Reply

Deepak June 10, 2010 at 11:39 pm

I am no bike expert. I agree with that. I never said I am. I just love bikes and I create content about it, blog about it, post videos about it. And I do it for free… for those who want that information.

in that case i appreciate your honesty. but your blog title is in that case misleading.

if you are not an expert, then please refrain from giving advice simply because you are not the best judge about two wheelers

Deepak June 11, 2010 at 6:46 am

@Amrit, Thank you for your suggestion. :) But I have to rethink about it. Because there are 5000-6000 visitors per day to my blog from all over India and most of them appreciate that I have created this portal. When 51% or more people tell me not to give advice, I will think about it. Until then perhaps you can unsubscribe from my blog :) No offense!

Great work Deepak,
Am sure u wnt be bogged down by some negative comments here……having a few critics actually tells u that u are on the right track…..and as we can see bikeadvice is slowly but surely getting big.

Thanks
Shreejith

I was enormously ecstatic when Deepak presented this idea to me. And after viewing the result of the outcome, I am sure many would agree that this initiative takes BikeAdvice a step closer to becoming our readers’ favorite one-stop solution to all bike related quenches.

We welcome all suggestions, criticism and comments. After all, wherever we stand today its only because of your constant encouragement, suggestions and criticisms :)

This is really a great initiative… carry on …. you have our support. However, how about starting a forum where experienced bikers can guide the novice ones (like me :) )…. This might be more effective than the question answer series and articles… This way we may find our answers in a quicker way. One more thing…… What about CarAdvice.in ???? I would love to see one full fledged Car Advice site like this one….

its a great new idea, as you said its not as good as the review done by car & bike show, but even then for a start its awesome, never got bored while watching the review, its great..

Deepak June 11, 2010 at 6:57 am

@Anupam, I will start a forum soon. The time is just not right now. But stay tuned.

I no longer own caradvice.in – I sold that domain so that I can completely focus on bikes. Many sites focus on both bikes and cars. We are able to do a better job than them because we sacrificed cars. However I still have some plans for a car review site, but not until bikeadvice has reached its maximum possible potential!

Credit to you, Deepak. This change is welcome!! But, don’t discontinue written reviews as most of us are still without broadband!!! It takes lot of time to check this video review on a dial-up connection, trust me with that :)

Deepak June 11, 2010 at 7:37 am

@Pulsarboy, written reviews will always be our primary focus. We will take certain important articles and convert the same into video like this one.

Great work, Deepak. Just one thing. In the video, it is mentioned that dazzler performance is slightly better than unicorn but when I took a long test ride on this bike I found it better than FZ16 or any other bike in this segment. Its pickup is amazing, much much better than unicorn though it doesn’t feels silent and refined as unicorn. I confirmed it twice. May be this is due to reduced weight and dynamics. On paper it is just 0.7bhp more but reality is different. Anyways, quite informative video.

This is a cool intiative Deepak, i had a remix video of the RTR 180 that i was working on for time pass.. i think it would be ok to post it here.. :)

Hi Deepak,

Really a good initiative. but instead of u giving the information by just showing the pics..u should have actually shown some test ride video. Probably, you could have ride & gave the review. It would be more lively & more ppl will c the review video.
Now, the review just looks like copy-paste of the review, you site has given earlier. No additional information.

Pls consider this point.
Wish you best of luck

Thanks
chinmay

Good initiative Deepak,

it looks great
Bike advice looks different from all other bike related web sites thats what attracts me

hope to see some changes on the look / design of this website

Deepak June 13, 2010 at 4:25 pm

Thanks for bringing that up! I have been thinking about changing the design and overall layout but there are a lot of Hurdles for that. The first problem is flexibility of the theme, and then comes resistance to change. Anyway I will keep it in mind!

Hi all..i have bought uni dazzler on May 31st…Completed my 15 days and it has touched 400kms…Only one word i can say is Awesome or excellent or great….now i m feeling the slogan of Honda “I Enjoy the Quality”it has very smooth engine with comfort riding…. its definitely a gud upgraded package than old unicorn…the wider rear tyre, sexy digi console, power increment and tubeless tyre gives u a pleasant driving and sporty look…paying just 4000 bucks extra u get thise upgrades than older Uni which is good value for money thing… In City riding i acheived mileage of 52…Depends on driving style..but it gives around 50-55 kmpl in city riding conditons…In top speed(60 – 70kmph)also bike doesnt makes noise and vibes..feels like flying….only doubt is it doesnt have kick start..oly elec start..i ve doubted and scared while hearing first..after enquiring dealr he said ..it comes wit MF battery and sure ther will be no prob for 4-5 years in battery….gear shift is really smooth and easy….braking is excellent…one more thing i like to clarify is here i seen in several posts that rear disk is risky and tough for fresh new first time riders…But the truth is rear disc is not powerfula s front one…i’ve felt rear dis is some wat 20 -30% sharper than drum brake…but ther is no question of riskiness in rear discs….on the whole its a sporty commuter,…..i m very much satisfied…it simply overtook old uni in all aspects…while comparing to pulsar(Poor per and ewngine and no comfort..only style) and gs(rust prob and relaiablity of engine) and fz(Better – but fails in mileage)..its better in all aspects…but it can beat the style of fz..but in performance and specs wise it has comparitively better than above 3…so guys go for it and Have a enjoyable riding…if any queries mail me to sun_vijay2003@yahoo.co.in….bye..

chethan August 23, 2010 at 11:44 am

I made it stand for 3 hours in rain but still started with the only electric start at once with out any problem!!!!!!
Yes i got my new CB Unicorn Dazzler on 6th aug…..
Completed 400 kms now without any problems……
and well it might be giving mileage from 45-50…couldnt check correctly and my top speed was only 50kmph…
Still i have 2 queries for d guys done with first service….
i dont enjoy its pickup really…will every bike before first service have this problem….
one more thing is gear sometimes fails to shift from 4 to 5 and sometimes from 3 to 2….. This is a problem at least in honda…..which is known for giving smooth shifting gears…
Will these 2 problems be solved in first service…..
i am just worried with d pickup bcoz sometimes it just happens tat we would have got a scrap piece (bike) from the lot….cant tell….

it’s gr8 that u ve started somethin new.but the way you ve done it’s pretty much like power point presentation.u could crate video reviews the way they do in car and bike show.need not be a 20 mins review but could be up to somewhere around 5 to 6 mins.gud luck!
