Hero MotoCorp Opens Manufacturing Plant In Rajasthan

The country’s largest motorcycle maker, Hero MotoCorp has opened its 4th motorcycle manufacturing and assembly plant in the state of Rajasthan. The plant is located in Neemrana and is spread over a total land area of 47 acres. Hero MotoCorp has stated that the company will be employing over 1000 people at the facility and has plans for an annual turnover capacity of 750,000 units when the facility goes into operation. Hero MotoCorp has decided to set aside Rs. 550 crores for investment into this project. The Hero MotoCorp’s Rajasthan facility will also house its global parts centre. It is expected that the production facility will go into operation by the end of 2013-14.

heromotocorpMr. Pawan Munjal laid the foundation stone for these two new establishments at a function attended by government officials and senior company executives. Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Munjal managing director & chief executive officer of Hero MotoCorp said “The commencement of work on the new plant is clearly indicative of our intention and strategy for the future. Thanks to overwhelming demand for our products, we have been consistently clocking in excess of five lakh unit monthly sales on an average. We foresee a revival in market sentiments sooner than later, and when it happens, we will be ready to meet the upsurge in demand.”

The Global Parts Centre of Hero MotoCorp will be featuring automated storage, retrieval, packaging, sorting and online warehouse management systems. In total this facility, will be employing an additional 400 people and will be spread across a land of 35 acres. Hero MotoCorp, still the number one in the motorcycle segment in terms of sales, plans to retain the position for a long time in the future too. Apart from expansion of its production capacities, the company is also readying a slew of new product launches, both in the commuter segment and the performance motorcycling segment.
