There are a few car companies in India offering extended warranty of upto 3 years as part of their standard package. For the first time Hero MotoCorp has declared a new press release stating that the brand will now offer 5 years warranty across its entire portfolio.
This warranty would cover 5 years or 70,000 km on all its motorcycle models, whichever is earlier and 5 years or 50,000 km on scooters, whichever is earlier.
Mr. Anil Dua, Sr. Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp said, “Staying true to our splendid legacy, all Hero two-wheelers will now have a 5-year warranty. Hero MotoCorp is the first manufacturer in the country to offer this benefit. It is in tradition of Hero MotoCorp having always led the way in customer service. This announcement is also an expression of our confidence in the unparalleled quality of our products, backed by strong R&D and excellent manufacturing capabilities.”
The world’s largest two wheeler manufacturer has mentioned that, ‘Path-breaking initiatives like this have resulted in strong customer commitment and trust in Hero. This unequalled assurance of 5 years when purchasing Hero’s two-wheelers, will further strengthen Hero’s position in the market-place as the undisputed leader.’
While many are currently complaining about the quality of the products from HMC, post the split between Hero and its erstwhile partner Honda and on the increased cost of servicing and of course, non – availability of spares , this is a right chance for the company to prove itself amidst heavy competition that the market is currently facing.
