Harley Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight Launched in India

We have had too much of news about Harley Davidson in India with a price tag of 5.5 and 6.5 lakhs. Now comes the latest one. HD is coming up with another model for Indian market. This time it’s the HD Sportster Forty- Eight. It comes at an amazing price tag of INR 8,50,000 approx (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

The name is derived from the very fact that the first HD came for production in 1948. The classic peanut fuel tank is the eye-catcher of this macho looking machine. The other highlight is however the massive and broad front wheels offering it the perfect HD’s look. It has borrowed most of its styling elements from the production lines of Dark Custom and Sportster bikes. Above all, the Sporster Forty-Eight is a solo seated bike.

Technically, the Sporster Forty-eight is equipped with the iconic Air-cooled Evolution V-Twin engine with a displacement of 1200 cc fitted with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) which is specifically designed to produce more torque at the output.

The instrument cluster of this machine will mount Handle-bar mounted electronic speedometer with odometer, time of day clock on the odo, dual tripmeter, low fuel warning light, low oil pressure light, engine diagnostics readout. The indicators would feature LED lamps. There is also an indicator lamp to denote low battery. The exhaust system would me all chrome, short exhaust with dual mufflers.

In the US market, the Sporster Forty-Eight is available in a range of three colors namely Vivid Black, Brilliant Silver Pearl and Sedona Orange. There are most chances of this bike to come to India with all these three above mentioned colour options.

Expect the bookings for this bike to commence by the end of this month across all the five Harley Davidson showrooms.
