If you got disheartened by our earlier news snippet on the not-so-early launch of Pulsar 400SS, here is something to cheer you up. At the same Discover 150F media ride, we asked top Bajaj officials about the launch date of Pulsar 200SS.
After quashing reports (and hopes) on 400SS, they did confirm that Pulsar 200SS is under tests and it will be launched soon in the market within the coming months. We also got a confirmation that the 200SS will be fuel injected.
The 200NS looks great and what Bajaj has managed with the 200SS is further raising the bar. What the spy shots have revealed so far is that it is identical to the Pulsar 400SS in terms of design. There is a slight doubt related to the exhaust layout. While most test mules have been seen with a stubby canister exhaust, but a few mules have also been seen with an underbelly exhaust like the Naked Sport version. We believe it will get the former!
*Pulsar 200SS will be very similar in looks to this 400SS
The heart of the 200SS will be the same as the one in the naked sibling, the 199.5cc mill, jointly developed by Bajaj and KTM, which produces 23.52PS of power and 18.3Nm of torque in the 200NS. There is no concrete word on the power output yet but a crispier throttle response is a given!
Also expect better fuel efficiency figures as well as a higher price tag. We expect Pulsar 200SS’ on road prices to reach about Rs 1.25 Lakhs.
