Ducati Diavel Launched in India

Ask any biker about their dream bike and Ducati always seems to be the unanimous choice. Revving up the spirit of youth and refurbishing the country’s biking culture, Ducati India launched its first showroom in Bangalore with a 3S facility. With disposable incomes on the rise and the economy growing faster than expected, these bike makers see India as a potential market. Founded in 1926, Ducati builds racing inspired motorcycles characterized by unique features, innovative design, advanced engineering and overall technical excellence.

The company produces motorcycles in six markets segments which vary in their technical and design features and intended customers: Superbike, Desmosedici RR, Monster, Multistrada, Sport Classic and Hypermotard. The company’s motorcycles are sold in 80 countries worldwide, with a primary focus in the Western European, Japan and North American markets. Ducati has won fourteen of the last seventeen World Superbike championship titles and more individual victories than the competition put together. Since 2003 it has also taken part in the MotoGP World Championship and in 2007 it won both the Constructors’ and Riders’ world titles.

Ashish Chordia, CEO of Ducati India, says “With India’s appreciation of luxury bikes and the opening of this showroom bike lovers can now experience what riders across the world have experienced for over a century. Also the facility will offer bikers everything they need to enjoy their Ducatis, including latest model range, technical support, parts accessories and apparels.” Also with the launch, Ducati unveiled the spectacular Ducati Diavel which is without any doubt, the most exciting innovation because it represents a new concept of motorcycle.

“It is a naked bike because it is essential, light and agile: a cruiser because it is imposing and also comfortable with a passenger: and a sports bike because it has a powerful heart, muscles, and levels of performance that take your breath away,” says Mirko Bordiga, CEO Ducati Asia Pacific. He continues, “Until now, no segment has ever captured these characteristics in just one motorcycle. If the Multistrada 1200 represents the perfect synthesis between functionality and performance, the Diavel creates a new interpretation of performance, this time combined with technology and design.”

The Ducati showroom at Lavelle road will display all models of the bike. However the latest ground-breaking Ducati will be available in three versions. Prices for the Diavel start from Rs 17.06 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base, the Carbon variant retails at Rs 22.06 lakh and the top end Carbon Red variant is priced at Rs 22.43 lakh. Now even Bangaloreans can hop on and take a ride on this ‘no less magic’ bike!
