@Ram

That's not true at all buddy. In the first place Ducati 1098 doesn't compete in the Moto GP. It competes only in the World Superbike Championships where Ducati leads with 14 world championships and Honda second with just 4. This is where Ducati 1098/1198 clashes against Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade and the Yamaha YZF-R1.

In the Moto GP Ducati uses Desmosedici, Honda RC212V (RC211V previously) and Yamaha YZR-M1. Here's where Honda and Yamaha dominate the Ducati. But always remember one thing pal, bike's can only be as good as their rider. Yamaha was struggling at the Moto GP and Valentino Rossi made them win. The whole world knew that the Honda RC211V was a far more advanced bike than the Yamaha YZR-M1. Everybody believed Honda would win and not Rossi anymore when he switched to Yamaha. But what happened? Rossi rode Yamaha to glory very easily in 2004/5/8/9. If Rossi rode a Ducati instead, without doubt they would have been champions.

True, although ducati's are known for their build quality and the quality of components that's being used, the truth is that an R1 or a Fire Blade will eat even the 1098 for breakfast. Although that's hard to digest this can be clearly seen in the Moto GP results.

Though the bike has the speed, it does not have the looks of a modern day superbike like the Ninja ZX14R :p
