Hello this is pavan reddy from Hyderabad. I’ am a student doing my B.tech and here is my review about my love. At first I was very confused to choose the bikes in the 150cc segment because of that I had many options like Bajaj Pulsar (which is common), Honda Unicorn (which looks like non- youth bike) in my opinion, Hero Honda Hunk (lack in finishing), Yamaha FZ, FZ-S, Fazer are awesome looking bikes but mainly lack in mileage.

Coming to Japanese again the Suzuki GS150R (Very good bike in all the terms but the lack of proper service personnel in Hyderabad has made me turn about). Because of all these research and home work, I taught that thinking is such a waste of time and finally decided to go for the Hero Honda CBZ Extreme to live my life extreme.
I booked the bike with my dad and the showroom guys delivered it in a week’s time. The bike feels really awesome and has a good initial pickup and also has the edge to deliver the required power.

The bike also feels very comfortable and also rides like a dream with the completely silent engine sounding characteristics. The problem again in the recent budget the bike rate has been increased by Rs.3000 in Hyderabad, my friend who had purchased the bike about 3months ago had paid Rs.68000 on road and I had to shell out Rs.71000 on road.

Initially I had a great deal of buying the Yamaha FZ which is a superb bike with its triple macho look and sure anyone will fall in love with it by seeing its wide rear tyre. As my dad was against all those in the FZ, I had to sadly leave FZ behind and start looking out for other options. Following is my evaluation of my X-treme.
LOOKS: 8.5/10 – As I already mentioned, it’s a good looking, large, handsome bike, which makes heads turn around. The front fairing does look somewhat conventional. But the rest of the bike will surely make you hold your breath. It is beautiful and strikingly aerodynamic. I’d like to mention the rear indicators, which are integrated into the rear LED brake light section which gives the bike a nice sporty look.

The silencer is most happening thing and definitely the best looking find on a 150 cc Indian bike. Adding to that is the black treated engine and alloy wheels that add more to the already beautiful packaged bike.
GEARS AND BRAKES: 9.5/10 – Everyone who tested my bike has left me in all praises about the gearshift which works like “Butter”. Absolutely nothing to complain about the bike here. The gear shift pattern is 1 down and 4 up. They are similar to karizma’s gear pattern, which again adds to the sporty persona of the bike.

One small thing I’d like to mention here is that getting the Bike to neutral takes a little bit of getting used to, but once mastered no worries at all. The overall braking is top-notch and I will surely be doing stoppies on my bike once I am done with the run-in.
MILEAGE: 8/10 – The mileage is pretty good for a 150 cc bike… although I’m not 100% sure, I think it must be between 45 and 50 kmpl. That is what I expected from the bike and is what I am getting now.
SUSPENSION: 10/10 – Only one word for the suspension “Excellent”! No matter what kind of road you ride on, one would feel like you’re riding on clouds at least I felt it that way and definitely no room for improvement here.
ENGINE: 9.5/10 – You may know that the CBZ X-treme is the most powerful 150cc bike in India. It gives 14.2 bhp of raw power out of 149 cc mill. The nearest competitor is the Bajaj Pulsar 150, which churns around 13.9 bhp. The pickup is amazing and I am whizzing down the street in no time. Also the purring sound the engine makes puts a smile on my face. Once the bike has completed its run-in period, I will push the envelope and see how good the bike really is. But so far, so good!
BALANCE, CONTROL AND RIDING STANCE: 10/10 – The bike may look big, but when you actually ride it feels light and ‘In-Control’. The riding position is comfortable. Both tall and short riders would have no problems riding the bike. The turning and the stability of the bike is absolutely brilliant. And not once have I fallen from or lost control of the bike, in spite of this being my first bike.
OVERALL VALUE: 8/10 - The bike is priced at Rs.71k on-road Hyderabad. With basic accessories it costed me a little more than 71k. Fair price for this excellent piece of machinery.

Hey Pavan.. you are wrong about this bike being most powerful.. Pulsar150 makes 15PS.. which is almost 1PS more than what CBZ has.
nice review….but you didn’t considered the drawbacks of this bike….!!
Well, i have heard that the shock absorbers of this bike are less durable than those of HH Hunk….!!!
Is this true in ur opinion??? I am also planning to buy a CBZ xtreme soon !!
Nice work!!! but you should know that upgraded Pulsar 150 gives more power output than the extreme. both the pulsar and apache 160 RTR gives more than 15 PS.
extreme is awesome u can prefer it without any thinking
HH Hunk has better suspension than CBZ Xtrme…So those wid bad backs must take this factor into consideration…
Am an owner of CBZ-X since Dec ’08..CBZ being the first bike purchased by me..Running till date trouble free…
Putting all the pro & cons aside…every1 will admit 2 d fact dan CBZ-X is one of the most handsome bike on the Indian road..with itzz tall & slim looks…putting apart the red & black colour combination..which make heads turn…..
Its the best bike in its class apart from R15, in quality, riding, handling, suspension…
Y you have rejected Hunk … it has superior youth styling than the extreme and has Good suspension ..
Both has Same Engines, power and Hunk is priced low than Exterme….
Hunk is smooth only below 6000 rpm….
Although they both have the same engine but stillXtreme is far far better than that of Hunk….
loving your bike in no way entitles you to belittle others with semi true facts….
Cbz is a great bike or was a great bike when launched in 1999. But sadly it is outdated with Hero honda not caring even for a cosmetic makeover.
Speaking about suspension, the monoshocks are the best in class and thats why Unicorn and Fz offer such riding comfort.
And to Pawan, sad that you had to miss the fz. Being a fz 16 owner for the past 8 months, I would have to say that you lost the opportunity to get this beast. And I am getting a mileage of 45-50kmpl.
Each bike has its own characteristics and each one has its own drawback’s and plus points
Appreciate the way you selected the one that suits your driving character
We are not buying bikes for wining race so no need to lookout for a bike which is superior in all aspects
Small correction….
CBZ’ engine is the powerful 150cc engine in India..
Yamaha YZF R15 has the most powerful engine,as far i know..(correct me if i’m wrong)..
thnk u
Corrections required. You could have give 10/10 for ENGINE. But SUSPENSION: 10/10 ; BALANCE, CONTROL AND RIDING STANCE: 10/10 is not at all Justifiable. You should Take a Ride in FZ16 before declaring the Points.
This guy doesn’t know how to write a review. He seems to have very limited knowledge on bikes. He has made many stray statements and is a CBZ extreme-fan. The fact is that CBZ extreme looks very ugly when compared to Hunk,Pulsar and FZ. Overall a useless review.
Pavan, nice choice i wud hav gone for the same but dint like the head of the bike..so had to go for the big brother honda…
nywayz njoy riding..
now matter how best he describes the bike he own, I can’t afford to buy it since it is unavailable in my country…
Can anyone please let me know the exact mileage of cbz xtreme atft in city and highway
Xtreme still rocks the segment, though Pulsar UG5′s power is higher on paper….Xtreme will surely beat it on road…Xtreme delivers rocking performance all the time…
I personaly own a CBZ extreme since July 2009. I just want to highlight few points:
1. It carries the same frame as Karizma do, it offers great stability after reaching triple digit mark. Although it vibrates after 110 km/h speed.
2. It does not have gas-charged shocks and if it is included in the bike it will do great for suspension.
3. A engine kill switch is required.
rest of the part you can find out.. till then happy riding..

Hey dude !! The top speed of the bike is 120kmph. If urs is not doing so, certainly it would have a problem….. check it once ang get it repaired …..
hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii guy dis is nani..im to the owner of cbz extreme….dnt bother abt other wrds…my frnds almost have all top most bikes…today.pulsar 150,my sellf cbz xtreme, honda unicorn, tvs apache 160,yamaha fz,zazer.
they all asks my bike 4 a long ride..bcoz none of their bike gives more than 35km/l..other than unicorn..
pulsar-45,apache,fz,fazer 25,un doubtfully my bike is giving 62 km/l..pick was mind blowing..0-60 in 4.6 sec’s.mainly its quality..form a legendary HH.
so enjoy with it..dnt bother other words..they r just 4 style.
the second’s rate of cbz is around 60000rs.
and iwld like 2 say u anoyher thng..as urs is new bike,:
the top speed is not 110,urs is a new bike,/ so it would not rise to 120…after a moth u see it wld rise 2 122 km/h.
and on long-milage is 62& in city it gives 50+..not below it..
see after a month ur bike would under many mind blowing changes.
Hay Nani,
Not sure which City are you from, But your comment shows that you are Narrow Minded. CBZ is a good one accepted, But if you want to get 62kpl out of it then you got keep the throttle less than 3K, So better Why dont you and your friends go for a TVS XL it will give you amazing results.
Do you think Yamaha & Bajaj are nut heads?? Your CBZ is no way in comparison with Power, Pickup,Handling, Visual Appeal etc etc.. of an FZ. What you get is a 4K less in Price and 5-8Kms Xtra on Mileage. But All FZ Owners give a Damn about this.
Please think before commenting.
Hi Aravindh,
CBZ-X gives a mileage of around 48kmpl if driven judiciously around 50-55kmph with an occasional speed of 60-65kmph.
It maxes out at 120kmph(speedo reading). It is very stable even at that speed and vibrations come only after 110kmph and that too through handle bar only.
@rancho
hey dude, thanks for ur reply. I’m 5’7” height, gonna book tis bike next month. But still some of my friends r tellin me to consider apache 180. I lik the build quality and styling of apache. Give ur opinion dude…!
@Aravindh
If you want a great performer with all the gizmos then go for Apache 180 without looking further. Its a great bike. But I believe that it may not be that comfortable for long drives.
all the appreciation above for cbzx is totally bakwaaaasssss!!!!!!!!
i had owned this bike last month and this faltu bike performance is least i m hardly getting 35-40 average. my brother had honda shine bike though it is 125cc but it is preety good bike. While going out on cbzx i had to think twice or thrice because of average and one more thing tht shock absorber in this bike are very less durable though it is a stylist bike but not for the student who are living far…
My advice Dont ever ever ever ever think to buy ths bike
@rancho
hey dude, yesterday i went to hh showroom for booking xtreme, but they refused to take d bookin as hh is delaying d distribution for very long time. Then i called almost every dealer around chennai and they al said d same and no one has xtreme in stock. I was greatly admired towards d black colour but then i found only one showroom guy havin red colour xtreme. So my only choice is to book d red colour or to go for any other bikes. Is tat red colour lookin good? I feel it is not upto d mark. Wat shall i do? I cannot wait more than this
Hi,
I recently bought CBZ . I am well satisfied with the bike.. except for one thing. It will get to halt in the rain. How big will be the rain is.. even if it is drizling very less.
Dear All
CBZ Extrem is a powerful bike than pulsar & unicorn.
my brother have unicorn. i ride both but unicorn have good suspension, but CBZ is a long life & strong bike. engine power is greater the any 150 cc bike.
now my CBZ gives me milage 53kmpl. just 5 days before i bought my cbz in pune.
my personally suggestion is choose only CBZ Extrem, dont think any other bike.
before taking CBZ extreme. I am very confused about bike & spend 1 month for finding good bike & finally i got CBZ & now I am very very happy.
If required any additional information pl reply on sachin31dec78@yahoo.co.in.
thanking you.
regards
sachin tapkir
@Aravindh
Hard luck dude!!
Red colour is also good but it all depends on personel taste.
I recently heard a lot of rumor that cbz is undergoing a change for digital instrumentation.. I may be it..
Any ways if you cant wait then I beleive Unicorn dazzler be an alternative
@rancho
thanks for ur reply dude. I bought cbz black colour itself last week and i’m happy about it. But the gear shifting is hard. Is it normal for a new vehicle and wil it become smooth after 1st service?
Hi Dudes,
I m very confused in purchasing CBX Xtrem bcause i heard Rumorus that its Going to Replace with Digital Instrumets Panel ………..So plz can anybody tell me when its will happen……bcause i have already booked at its for delivery on Diwali.

Hi guys, this is Raheem from Guntur. I am planning to buy a bike in a span of a month and is in a big confusion between Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme and Honda Dazzler can any body pl suggest me which one will be nice for me as i am working in Jaipur and didn’t had any idea about the bikes. Pl send me your valuable suggestions.
Hi guys..
I was also a fan of this bike and that’s y i bought it…
But just after 3 months i found that it has worst suspension..whenever i go through a rough way…it sounds a lot and it is of no use..
most important thing is i asked the service provider to do something ifor it…and for last 5 servicing i am getting the same result..
they said that they have repaired the suspension but it always remains same..
I am v disopppointed with this bike…but yes it is still mush better than Pulsur and other s bike in 150cc
