Auto Expo Live: Bajaj Unveils Pulsar 400CS (Cruiser Sports): Pic Gallery & Details

by Saad on February 6, 2014

Bajaj was already shouting well before the Auto Expo that they will unveil their next-generation cruiser at the Auto Expo and the end product what we see is one of the most interesting product coming out from their stables.

Named as Pulsar 400 CS, it is the latest offering from the company and is Pulsar 400SS’ sibling. CS and SS here stand for Cruiser Sports and Super Sports respectively. Pulsar 400CS is the most surprising product coming from the company because everyone had anticipated the bigger Pulsar but a cruiser based on it was definitely unprecedented.

Pulsar 400CS is powered by the same 375cc liquid cooled 4 valve single cylinder engine which the Pulsar 400SS will also get. Here are a few quick details of Pulsar 400CS:

  • front and rear petal disc brakes
  • all-digital conole
  • Fuel Injection
  • 6-Speed gearbox
  • engine cover
  • ABS
  • stubby short exhaust
  • lower seat
  • wider handlebar
  • naked headlamp with 9 lighting elements

Pulsar CS is not a thorough bred cruiser, per say but instead it is more of sporty cruiser and if you can stretch your imagination, like the Ducati Diavel! It seems Pulsar 400CS will come loaded to the grille, once Bajaj is ready with the product. With this, we also get a hint that Bajaj may include the cruiser genre of bikes within its ‘Pulsar’ brand sometime soon.

Check out its picture gallery and get drooled.

CS may not stand for “Cruiser Sport”
I feel it would be “Classic Sport”.
Since, this bike doesn’t look like a cruiser!

kp February 7, 2014 at 5:50 pm

discover 125 is a sports tourer???

Tyson February 6, 2014 at 12:39 pm

Look wise its good but spec same like Duke.
Nothing innovative from bajaj.
Even Hero n TVS are back in game n bringing new technologies.

bujji February 6, 2014 at 1:33 pm

this pulsar looks nice than earlier pulsars

Amit Rane February 6, 2014 at 1:56 pm

Woooooowwwwwwwww BAJAJ superb move. What a new Gen-Next Pulsar.
Q HERO ? jor ka zhtka jorse laga na abhi

singh February 6, 2014 at 2:45 pm

Hero ko jhatka?? joke q kar rahe ho.
Hero has risen from its sleep n bought 4 innovative Model with 3 concept.
wat did bajaj bought, A bike with Dukes engine that too with little less power.
your drunk buddy.

Rival February 7, 2014 at 9:06 am

jor ka zhtka for Hero?!!! are u kidding bro!!!

Hero has launched far more better bikes than these. and for wat jor ka jhatka, taking engines from KTM n placing in a bike doesn’t give jor ka jhatka.
It says jor ka ghanta baja bajaj ko.

Hero the dumbass bike maker boss!…Still stuck in 80′s Fill it shut it forget it cocept, chiu abhi tak 100cc pe atka pada hai, had not bajaj launched new bikes this asshole company abhi tak 1980′s ka 100cc ka bike bech raha hota. Because of this zhatka yeh dhakkan abhi jaag gaya hai. After honda split yeh zandu hai kya, piece of crap, jisko abho tak bike designing nahi aata, look for 2014 karizma, 2014 passion pro. Before doing such BOKWAS you both do some research dumb asses.

bujji February 6, 2014 at 2:34 pm

this also looks similar to mahindra mojo 300

Mukesh February 6, 2014 at 2:55 pm

U disappointed Bajaj, was expecting something on the line of Avenger, but instead u brought this naked – Nanga bike.
r u not listening the bells of RE over last 5 years. their sales are sky rocketing as no other manufacturer has balls to give them a competition.
Great disappointment if this is your so called Cruiser !

Balachander February 7, 2014 at 2:15 pm

At least someone else feels the way I felt.
I couldn’t understand why people call this as a cruiser bike.
It doesn’t look like cruiser in any angle!

Akshay February 7, 2014 at 10:35 pm

Guys…Get some knowledge… You seem too illiterate in bikes… Both Balachander and Mukesh…

Mari February 6, 2014 at 3:35 pm

Stunning looks… :-) Gr8 work team bajaj…And moreover,it is not a concept bike like hero/tvs stalls…Almost production version…Bajaj stays ahead of competition…

Farhan February 6, 2014 at 4:31 pm

Cruiser no ways………………………..
This can can not be called as a cruiser, it is rather roadster.
A naked roadster.

Balachander February 7, 2014 at 2:16 pm

And that too it doesn’t look good but people are praising it!

om February 7, 2014 at 4:45 am

RE killer in price to tech aspects, but for pillian, one needs to have customized seat

Vimal Raju February 7, 2014 at 8:33 am

Judging by the long wheelbase and the low hung seat it is capable of some bit of touring. The foot peg is directly under the rider, not set back, which gives an (almost) upright riding position. Ideally it should weigh around 175 kilos (there is something special about heavy bikes). Hope the “plasticky” feel of Pulsars have been done away with on this one. Let’s see.

Very beautiful looking and looks promising

jonard sonza February 7, 2014 at 10:16 am

truly an awesome bike for bajaj, unfortunately this bike will not come to our soil(Philippines) like the P200 ns since it was launched in 2012 the bike still has not come up to this date. the cs 400 has a similarity with honda ctx700 but from bajaj i must say you deserve a “two thumbs up”- hope this will launch this year. others may say that bajaj bikes are not good enough will i may say you are on the right track of what you did. the more critics you have the more people have notice the company’s transformation, just continue making great bike for you inspire more people to ride a bike from bajaj and realize their dreams of owing one at a reasonable cost especially a country of which not so wealthy and powerful make this people as your vision and mission. you made a bike that breaks the barrier of social status. whooooaa! bajaj.

Neel Jinwala February 7, 2014 at 6:50 pm

Should have clicked one photo of Speedo dash

Aditya February 7, 2014 at 7:13 pm

Looks bold and fearless, it is definitely for comfort crusing and touring. As some one pointed out above, the long wheel base, up-right seating position and wide seats show that it is designed to be more of torque bike than POWERRRR bike. Looks like Bajaj are on to something.

om February 7, 2014 at 8:05 pm

its a tourer not cruiser thats y it doesn’t look like harleys, even honda makes these types of tourer bikes

Anurag February 7, 2014 at 8:55 pm

looks far better than the overdone SS. while the SS looks too hotch-potch albeit having beautiful proportions, this one appears clean. still the tank and shrouds have the same plasticky feel of the 200NS but it can be overlooked having otherwise so international look and feel. the USD forks are sure a welcome. wondering what stopped BAL from installing them on SS. some gentleman above rightly pointed out its resemblance with CTX-700. Sure Mr. Bajaj had power cruisers in likes of CTX in mind, bold move I would say considering we are a supersports starved country.
and the big brains at Bajaj, if you are reading this – thumbs up for your endeavors of putting smiles on millions of faces of not so rich bikers. we love your designs, but you need to work far far on the reliability issues with your bikes.
Finally, thank you for NOT putting a clip-on handlebar on yet another naked bike.

aj February 8, 2014 at 12:30 pm
