Yes the guy who wrote the review is right.
No wonder the thunderbird is really cool and powerful, but the reason that all enfields should be hated is not the thumping sound , but the tweaks that are made to the thumping sound, seriously guys who buy bullet have a psychological status problem, the thumps might make your heart melt , but going on long rides makes it boring, as u only hear the thumping.
But with the avenger, its not so, maintanence depends from yourself, a nice average will be what you will be looking after a long run, if you are spending your own money, not from your dads pocket. Avenger is much more classier, muscle, elegant and smooth. Its not for the rogues, its for the adventurer inside you.
I own an avenger 2006 model, done 50,000 kms, but the engine is still smooth, turns have good balance and yes i still get a solid 120km/h on the highways, and i wouldnot even feel it. And yes the grip on the roads is better on turnings, trust me on that.

After all,
I am not a rogue, i am an adventurer,
I am not a lion, i am the tiger,
I am not bully , yes i am classy
No iam not fool, cleverer than being edgy

I am a patriot, not in the hands of the british still, i am an AVENGER
Did u get me still?

I have an avenger 200 bought in may 09. The bike is still awsome...when my friends ride it they dont beleive it, that it could be 3 years old. The smooth ride and comfortable position is something i am very happy with my bike. On every servicing i get a teflon coating done for Rs.400. So even now it looks very new. When i wait in a traffic signal everyone around looks at my bike and ask me the cost and mileage of the bike. And they all assume that it is brand new. I get an average of 38-40 in city. I changed my battery for the first time in Dec 12. I think it is pretty decent!!

Hai sandeep,
i am using bajaj avenger since 2008. Changing gears is very difficult at signals, if u want change gears here is a simple technique. First kill the engine ie at right side. Then u can easily change the gears. When the engine is off u can easily change gears, Otherwise it is very difficult try it
